    OCZ pcXX EB vs EL?

    Heya.
I´ve been reading up on these "EB" threads the past few days and I must admit I´m very tempeted by them.
At the moment I have Mushkin special 2-2-2 that can bench at 240fsb 1:1 with 2.8v!! Pretty amazing!
My problem is that I need one gig of ram.
My question is what´s the diff between "ordinarey" EL optimized kit from OCZ and the new EB stuff?
I can see that the price diff. is almost 90$!
    So please enlighten me

would go for the EB stuff.. seems to pack out some punches.. although I dont know how the onb. memory controller would act with these different chips..

takker bias It´s just that the price diff. is pretty stiff i believe but from what I´m hearing the way to go is EB! right?
A second qustion - is the EB3200 so much lousier than the EB3700? it seems like everybodies is aiming for the 3700EB?!

    eb > el

eb runs 3-2-2 wich is almost as fast as 2-2-2 because of some tweaks

el runs 2-3-2 afaik. i think the eb is faster than the el at the same mhz

price.. the 3700 got VERY expensive.

i got 512 for 164, then a week later it was over 180 for that same 2*256 kit. $195 for 2*256 is a little high. and its about double that for a gig.... nearly 400? neg.

i just received my PC 3500 Dual Kit 1024MB today for P4C800E

    250MHz 3-2-2-5-4 prime stable with only 3,0V !

More seems to be unlikely because of memory controller

another thing I want to clear is, ras to cas on the EB ram doesnt matter? because I was sure as heck that it does matter. pc3700eb does about 250fsb average but 3-2-3-6 and the 3 in ras-cas hurts performance bad over it being a 2, is that correct?

personally i'd go for the PC3700EB for potential to go >250mhz 2.5-2-2-6/8 to 3-2-2-8

thats what I told him. he thinks none of the timings matter, I told him it being cas3 doesnt matter but the ras-cas of 3 hurts it bad but he keeps saying it dont matter! sandra shows little bandwith difference but youll lose big performance in 3dmark and games though

The OCZ EB will run with trcd of 2 on 95%+ of the sticks so what are you complaining about?
