Corsair H70 picture - Released tomorrow? (updated)

    http://gadgetsteria.com/2010/07/30/c...ng-august-1st/

Two pictures in the gallery at the end of the article. The most interesting thing is the SKU Livedate August 1st 2010.

Could any Corsair guys make or kill this rumour?

    Edit: http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...ient=firefox-a

Google cache of a removed preorder page, it's either true or got delayed at the last second. From the preorder and article it looks like it will cost about 50% more than the H50, but come with two fans a new cold plate and a thicker radiator. As the preorder page was pulled, we can't really guess at the date, but I could imagine it taking the estimated 10 days from Corsair base to OCUK. At least we know the picture is accurate, as both the OCUK page and the article use the same picture.

Might as well include the stats:

    - A new improved cold-plate design more efficiently transfers heat.
    - A thicker radiator increases the cooling surface area for even better cooling potential.
    - Dual 120mm fans with multiple speed options that let you optimize the maximum cooling and minimum noise.
    - Includes mounting hardware compatible with all modern CPU socket designs
    - Radiator Dimensions: 120mm x 50mm
    - Fan Dimensions: 120mm x 25mm
    - Fan Speed: Selectable 1600 or 2000 RPM
    - Air Flow: 50.35 – 61.2 CFM (per fan)
    - Static Pressure: 1.8 – 2.3mm H20 (per fan)
    - Noise Level: 26 – 31.5 dBA (per fan)

yay, i was just about to buy a new heatsink and kept wondering if i should get the H50, and now this shows up

however i wonder if its going to be really noisy. fan speeds only having 2 options, medium-fast and fast, dont sound all too fun for 24/7 speeds

    50mm from radiator, and 2x 25mm fans

if u wanted thinner, go with the H50 since it wont be that much different if they used the same rad

don't need to, already have custom setup, plus the H50 rad isn't that thick

were both saying the H50 rad isnt 50mm, and my point is, why would they build a whole new cooling setup using the same rad as before. if people wanted smaller, go with the H50, if people wanted bigger, go with the H70

higher fpi=more noise =needs higher fan speed to cool as efficient anyway even if it is thicker

I didnt like the H50 much, and pushing hot air into a case which already has 3 gtx 480's is not fun. My temps with H50 push pull with scythe gentle typhoons were 50-52c idle, with a prolima tech megahelems, it now idle at a cool 40-44c

It will be interesting to see a test on this.

My SR-2 build is getting really crowded with HUGE CPU-coolers in a small case. I could use a couple of these, if the the temps are good tho.

Yep I was really thinking that 2 H50's would be a great cooling solution for a vertically mounted SR-2 (wish I could afford one + chips ) .... then the H70 came along

    Looking forward to reviews

Seriously, it should really only be used as exhust on a high end system. The damn raddy on it really does dump a shed load of heat.

'Cold Plate' is the bit that touches the CPU.

That's the base of the CPU-block.

These all-in-one usually have good enough pumps, but those crappy rads have been the biggest problem until now. A better rad is really needed and hopefully this one can improve it. It remains to be seen how good this new rad is tho, a good test will interesting to see.

yeah the rad is def the weak spot of these kind of kits...
i wonder what exactly they mean with coldplate though...
traditionally coldplate, at least in my understanding, has been a sheet of metal acting as a heatspreader, kinda like an ihs...
so what does corsair mean with better cold plate? its lapped better? or do they mean they improved the waterblock design?

    Very nice.
This might perform as well as VX, or maybe even a bit better...

umm you guys are not making much sense

if you have a heatsink and 150W cpu, theres 150W moving through your case.
if you use a H50 then you have 150W being pushed in your case, OR you have the heat from other things used and get worse cpu temps but with all the heat moved out. it cant be more than a regular heatsink (except the pump that adds 3W)

A lot of design goes onto the side of the coldplate that's in contact with the water. It used to be pins, but now what's in fashion are microchannels for laminar flow.

If you use the H50 on a intake fan you have that heat sprayed all over the inside of your case. Corsair say its the optimum option, but it'll turn your case into a furnace. A lot of high end cases have more than one fan blowing out, so I personally think having the H50 blowing out is the best choice, as if you used a f/hs combo you'd have to use air from inside the case anyway.

Besides if you are dumping all that heat into the case some of it will get back to the CPU through the motherboard anyway.

If this is the same price as the h50 or same price as it was when it was first released looks like we're onto something, Cant wait for some tests to see how it compares to its little brother hehe

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?
