You would be able to pull those temps down quicker with less coolant

well I relise that but I would also have to run the unit more often to maintain temps, at this point it takes about 3 or 4 days for the coolant to reach room temps, it would take much less time if I had less fluid...

Another vote for large res from me, it will help maintain the temps longer.
