Everything is not about the megahertz. It's how well they scale with OC and Fermi architecture is much better at that than RV870 afaik. 30% OC with good scaling is a big deal.

Yeah, I mean, they only have a countdown on their site. I don't remember anything like that, when 8800GT was supposed to come out.

$50 at this pricepoint is not that big of a deal? 8800GT MSRP was $249 and they were sold out for months. So yeah, go figure.

im not saying they wont, but there hasnt been any info suggesting they will... originally there was, cause originally nvidia clocked 460s at 625mhz only, but that seems to have changed now...

Some cards are coming out at 800mhz and the price they are charging for such a preoverclocked is like 20 bucks over stock. This means they barely trying to actually bin these things to get that high of a speed.

The fastest gtx 480 is the zotac AMPed edition which has a three slot cooler and is only clocked at 756mhz. The only thing getting to 900 mhz is a water cooled gtx 480 with lots of volts.

There is alot to hype about a mainstream graphics card saaya. If anything, nvidia needs this card the most to regain consumer confidence because this price segment is the biggest market. Additionally if AMD is forced to lower its prices(not saying they will, but the potential is there), it shows AMD feels threatened.

If you don't think NV can't hype this saaya, you don't know NV. NV has hyped things that are far far less important. E.g big bang driver, physX and etc.

Ket, me a defensive fanboy? Look at the sig, I am not a fanboy and I have posted pics that I am an amd card owner and even benchmarks...

nice lil card lets see how much damage this one will make but to say the truth starting countdown for a card that is barely faster than 5830 which also isn't that good of a card is probably lamest idea ever lol

going by that ...so far the 1g card is tough new kid on the block......the higher clocks really help this card go as fast as the 465
looks like a really good $220 1600x1200 card.

The GTX 460 looks like an awesome performer for the price. This is the card I am waiting for to complete my friends computer.

I hope there is a lot of stock on release date...

Going by the results and comparing it to another review, that has HD 5850 in it, it looks like GTX 460 1GB might be on par with HD 5850 in some games.

If we take into account, that GTX 460 will probably go over 900MHz with more voltage, it might be possible, that this card will beat or be on par even with an oc'ed HD 5850. That's crazy

some games yes, but averaged its probably still a few % behind. the 5850 averages 25% stronger than a 5830 from TPU

The 1gb version, roks, i think that it is almost equal to 5850, unfortunately 5850 it isn't present in the review... Really good card...

In Far Cry II maybe ...
Did you see the graphs above, i mean in many games de 1gb models is 10-12FPS ahead 5830 An there will be many oc models at a price of standard, Gigabyte , Palit( 219$ - 1gb, 725/1450(core/shaders.)
5830 and 5850 will take a good hit, Ati must reduce the prices.

1GB version, in some cases. I'm just extrapolating these results, so it might be a little of. It will either be on par or come close in certain games.

G92 era repeats itself, though is going to be bad, refresh > rename > refresh > rename pattern with the same arch all over again

With this performance it makes both the GTX465 and 5830 a waste of money. In fact, I would think it would drive the 465 to EOL... but I'm guessing Nvidia wants to sell off as many as they can.

I meant g92's not 400 series.... eventually it will happen with GF104 if it has the same success as g92...
