Smile One Pot for GPU and CPU - SOLID! [56k warning]

    Heya

The idea was to create a very massive container to handle the heat of Fermi.

I've worked hard in the past few weeks to get these pots done.

    First result:

The hole for the probe is very close to the GPU. So temperatures should be accurate.
Diameter in the middle of the pot is 40mm. Enough space for LN2/DICE.

Because of the huge weight of 2850g i decided to change the layout of the container. So it can also be mounted on nearly all CPUs (Socket A, 939, 775, 1156, 1366, AM2(+), AM3).

    And for sure polished

On XFX 790i Ultra SLI to show the size of the Pot.

2 of these containers on AMD QuadFX mainboard incl. mounting

And finally mounted on a GTX275 Lightning:

(its important to put something between mainboard and pot to support the card because of the huge weight!)

you have an l1n64-sli ws, does it take quad's or is that just the ws/b and if not can you just swap the bios chips to make it a ws/b

It is the WS version for FX CPUs. Got 4x FX-74 and 2x FX72 here =) Not sure whether the opteron CPUs will run on it with new bios.

are you sure the cards would be able to handle the load of the pot without warping???

I'm sure that the weight is to high for a mounting without supporting the card. That's why i wrote this, up in post #1:

Simply because you'll be stripping insulationg more often to switch it, nickel plating seems like a must.

    I knowz

Looks like a crazy temp-holding pot for CB-less CPUs & VGAs, can't wait to see some tests with it ( maybe you could meet with Kabauterman and test it with his 980X ? )
