CPU block for Phenom II X6.

What's a good block to cool a Phenom II X6 right now? I've been out of watercooling for over two years now.
As quoted by LowRun......"So, we are one week past AMD's worst case scenario for BD's availability but they don't feel like communicating about the delay, I suppose AMD must be removed from the reliable sources list for AMD's products launch dates"

Good question, i've been wondering this myself. For the time being, my Heatkiller 3.0 seems to do a good job on my X6.

Considering to switch over to the EK Supreme HF though.

I am using the EK Supreme HF Full Copper Nickel Plated for my 1090T. It's running at 4.0 GHz @ 1.380v and during a 6 hour Prime 95 burn-in my temperatures never broke 45° C.

what i really like about AMD CPU's is that they are famous for their good temperatures

They run amazingly cool. My girlfriend has an AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE @ 4000mhz and with the Corsair H50 cooler it has a max temp of 50 degrees in Prime95. My Core i7 at 4000mhz with HT off and watercooling has a max temp of 52 in Prime95.

"Famous for their good temperatures" because they crash when they get to anything above like, 65°C. AMD's don't do well at high temperatures. Intels have a bit more wiggle room, as they'll run no problem at 85°C.

Supreme HF, Apogee XT, CPU-360, Kryos XT should all be top-notch on the X6.

Largely because of the great mounting system, I chose to use a CPU-360 on my 1055T for my recent TIM test, and thought I had great temps. So great my idle temps were 10C below water temp

With CPU-360 and MX-2, I had ~35C CPU temps at 30C water temperature at 192W through the block--so basically the numbers it reports are baloney.

Overall, AMD's temperature sensors are totally incomparable to Intel's (and for that matter, Intel CPU X is totally incomparable Intel CPU Y), the whole "AMDs run at lower temperature" is mostly meaningless.

Anyway, yeah, any of the top blocks right now should be good. I'd lean toward the CPU-360 since it has the best AMD mounting system, however.
