Thumbs down Foxconn Motherboards Support Windows 7? Except Blackops?

I was glad to see that foxconn supports windows 7, announced in BOLD colourful text.

    Then I click the link.

    http://www.foxconnchannel.com/Produc...ws7/index.html

What the hell guys?, it's like you intentionally skipped Blackops or X48 for that matter. I mean Cmon, you never cease to amaze me foxconn, or quantum-force. Damnit this just keeps getting better and better.

Geez Lord Trident, Is the Blackops going to get official Windows 7 Support or not?

i dont think carl ever said it would?
that doesnt mean it wont, just saying he didnt go into details cause he couldnt know what the taipei hq would do exactly...

i wouldnt know what exactly would keep BO from getting win7 support?

EDIT: the BO doesnt use custom components, and im sure intel will have win7 x48 drivers, broadcom too, realtek too... and thats it... so even if foxconn wont collect those drivers and put them on their site, you should be able to find those drivers from the respective component mfc sites. and BO uses two diferent broadcom NICs, one pciE and one pci, im sure at least the pciE one will get win7 drivers...
the only thing that might not work is aegis panel...

    Relax, mate.
There is nothing Foxconn has to do to support Windows 7. As long as your PC is OK with minimal system requirements for that OS, you're set. All drivers for your motherboard are included into Win7 distributive anyway. If, for some reason, you absolutely need totally up-to-date chipset drivers, go to Intel site or google for Intel Chipset Installation Utility, it will update your drivers. It works with all boards based on Intel chipsets that were sold during the last 4-5 years I think.

    have you tryed it
if not then go ahead try it first before you complain

why it not on the list do not know but it could be it EOL and has been a while
but dont worry if you find a bug that stops win7 from running it will be fix

but the truth is if vista runs on it then there not a lot to stop win7 from running on it

I'm dual booting Vista and Win7 RC on Blackops no problems, I can't see Retail Win7 being that majorly different to RC that it won't run.

Storm in a teacup if you ask me.

This is pretty common with motherboard manufacturers.

WHQL certification is pretty expensive to get. It may be a more economic decision than a practical one.

Its worth remembering that this is an enthusiasts board and its unlikely that any customers will need WHQL certification for OEM sales.

Ok, I understand each and every point made above, and thanks alot for all your replies, as usual it does help alot.

What ticks me off so much is the fact that foxconn made the announcement and made the list specifically excluding the blackops. Lord T, You're right I haven't tried it, I understand BOPS is an enthusiast board, but I'm sorry, really. next time I will try things first before I fire off my big mouth, I'm just a little disappointed of everything that's been happening that's all. I will wait and see.

I apologize for my actions. not just to Lord T, but to everyone here.

Lol.. that would must be really special X48 board if it can work with Win 7 *chuckles*.

Annoucements there and here.. use your brain when you read something.

Your disappointment is understandable, I'm too.. cause I really deeply wished, that Quantum-Force will continue forever..

It also works with Linux - the umbuntu distro anyway.
Running W7 RC 64 bit for the last few weeks though and no problems. Plan on getting retail version before the RC expires.

rip them out of the disk and run the installer in compatibility mode, i dont remember but i think that agis was the only useful tool on there other than drivers so get it from the website
