Anyone have any info on batch 3939C199? Seems pretty nice, doing 3.8GHz (19x200) @ 1.218v, still testing, will post pic after I tweak it a bit more.

Early results from my i7 930 3001A125. Note that I have not much experience OCing so help are welcome!

I'm testing the cpu first so I used a low DRAM multi. I will work on the memory once I'm done with the cpu testing.

    I am now Priming (3.5 hrs so far) with 21 x 200 1.325v BIOS 1.336v CPUZ.

    Load temp are 75-75-74-71

    I'm quite happy with this!

75C (under Prime95 small FFT) acceptable temp for a 24/7 OC? Normal use will never get to those temps.

Just use LinX, it's much faster than Prime and just as stressing. 50-passes should be more than enough.

Damn its been a while since someone has posted in this thread...but have the 930s improved lately regarding overclockability?

Seems the best ones I have seen typically do 4ghz 1.17-1.18v HT on Linx stable? Is this still the case?

Got an medicore one 1.312 V under load 4 GHz , if I push it to 4.2 unstable
And even without HT. 4 GHz HT requires 1.33V Load .. not worth mentioning

    Yes I am surprised myself I was expecting a 4ghz 1.31v

For that run I was quite loose with volts. The vtt was at 1.34v. I will need to try and lower volts later and see how it goes. Cooling is H20. I doubt it will match my 950 3847A but a nice surprise for a 930. I did briefly try 210x21, again loose volts just to get a feeler - vcore ~1.33v 7 loop linx, stopped then tried 4ghz

hey mate, try 1.3cpu pll and 1.38-1.4 qpi/vtt for 4.2

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

Worth trying thanks mate. I allways try to keep the CPU as low as possible, PPL is 1.8 , QPI is 1.2 ...

    Mate!

Ur Qpi is too low! I can run my 930 at 4.2ghz with CPU 1.33v in bios and QPI 1.335 its minimum with my corsair 1600cl7. If u had 2000mhz cl 8 mems u should use 1.35 -1.4 QPI! So dont be affraid and make qpi 1.335 or 1.35.

I have recently got my hands on two medium new 920s and they both sucked. Also tried one month old 930 which was just as bad.
Yesterday bought one a little older batch 930 but didnt have much luck with this either. Its a 3938B which is quite a promising number for 920s but apperantly wasnt so good for 930.
It does 4ghz with 1.3v set on bios and 4.4ghz with 1.475v set on bios. Both with HT on. Im using powerchips gskill ripjaws and X58A-UD7. The rig is highly touchy about any voltages and has huge learning curve. Im still figuring out whats the problem. Memory sticks work well only on default speed (1600mhz 7-8-7-24) and dont like any ohter. Not lower, not higher.

Anyway. I already ordered 980x which i get in monday. Im sick of my i7 bad luck and decided to go gulftown instead.

That is interesting regarding your 930 batch #3938Bxxx... I'm curious to know what the rest of the batch# is for your chip? I had a 920 #3938B010 that was a very nice clocker.

Polroger, its full batch is 3938B266
4.2ghz HT on stable at 1.35v. Not too bad. Not brilliant either.

As i said. 920 with this batch is awesome. 930 seems not so awesome...
