    Even cheaper dry ice container?

Would it be possible to use a container made from a aluminum or copper base with styrofoam(sp) securely epoxied to it? I know it would be stiff enough but will it handle the temperatures involved? Also, will it have any reaction with 99% isopropyl alcohol or acetone? I'm broke right now but I found out I can get dry ice so very very cheap 5 minutes from my house and its been calling me.. Thanks guys,

    -RuKK

oh, before I forget, will there be a large difference in temperatures between a copper and aluminum base plate?

Ok, what if I have a 1/2" thick aluminum base plate? Will fins on the base help me much? Thanks for the reply,

What's the difference between acetone and pure ethanol. Wouldnt the later of these two be better, it's not that poisonous as acetone.

    ethanol is #1 for DI

99% Isopropyl Alk is good also, freezes up slightly but within 10C of ethanol.

My DI container is now almost finnished. Needs only lapping and insulation and its ready to go And the costs are 8€ total for materials but I still have the materisals for 3 other containers so 2€ for a container isnt that bad.I used 27cm X 6cm copper tube brazed on a 1cm thick baseplate. I will post some pics after I have lapped the bottom to look a bit nicer
    cool cool cool!
