Samsung 245BW, I've had it for awhile now. And I edit photos on my comp; I don't use it for video since I use Final Cut.

wow kind of surprised your using a TN panel for photo editing. - i thought it was IPS but newegg shows it as a TN panel ???
well final cut is a pc app, what monitor you use for that ?
just wondering what monitors people are using that have proper gamut and good panels.
i rma'd my 2407 on the last day of warranty so i got what appears to be a pretty new or about as new as one can get and its colors are alot better and zero backlight bleeding, but i been in the mood for a new monitor for a long time.

Apple Cinema Display, which is IPS. Reason I got a display with a TN panel is IPS only got cheap recently. When I purchased the 245BW it was $400 and that was considered cheap for a 24" with a TN panel.

LED is only different way of lighting monitor up, its just more "ECO" than CCFL used for other monitors. If done properly, it should give much more uniform illumination/brightness over entire monitor. Problem is, that usually it just gives you "light maps" with places that are illuminated and places which apparently bit lacks illumination. Simply, usually its worse than classic CCFL illumination.

What really matters is monitor matrix .. S-IPS, S-PVA, S-TN and such.. there are few other options, like new and cheaper E-IPS. Tough, I never saw them, so cant say.

If you want pics just for PC and web, you should be fine with good S-TN/TN. If you want print.. well, aRGB capable monitor isnt bad for that. Usually S-IPS or S-PVA (or some other IPS/PVA variations).

There are also some internal tech specs, which affects quality, like if it has 10bit precision or 16bit (and few others), and how much bits LUT has. More you have, higher price, but more accurate (if calibrated ofc). Currently you can take advantage of Display Port that can with correct monitor achieve even higher color precision.

I have Eizo 22" - aRGB 95% and S-PVA panel. Perfect for printing, quite cheap. WUXI from NECs are pretty good too and ofc Apple monitors. Especially those with S-IPS.

Yeah i know the border goes over the image in parts.. i'm lazy and dont feel like cropping it properly.
i didn't realize until i got the image on the PC that the bottom flower had so much shadow on it compared to the other 2, had it not, it would have made it better.
