    New SeaSonic X-Series Gold PSUs

    X-Series; Fanless 400 & 460 watts
Fanless power supply has been around for many years but never one has lived up to the performance and quality requirements until now. The new Seasonic X-400 & X-460 fanless power supplies take advantage of the 80PLUS(R) Gold super high efficiency and low component count design to bring quality and performance to a whole new level.

    X-Series; 560, 660, 760 & 850 watts
Versatility and balance best describes the mid range X series power supplies. These power supplies provide enough juice to run most systems on the market today. Manufactured with top-grade components and a Sanyo Denki fan coupled to Seasonic’s Hybrid Silent Fan control, these units will be the workhorse of your system, day in and day out.

    X-Series; 1000 & 1200 watts
Power, is what the 850, 1000 & 1200 watts units are all about. For the serious PC enthusiasts with super power hungry systems, these units will run any system configuration you build. These top end X series power supplies provide more +12V DC output than any comparable competitors on the market today.

The New X Series broadens the original X series lineup to a full range of power outputs from 400 to 1200 watts and at the same time, maintains the Full Modular DC cables capability and all the superb features found on the original X series plus upgrades such as fanless functionality and upgraded DC-DC circuit design.

Yep, passive 460W seems very interesting.

Damn! I bought this x-650 a little while back...400W would be much more appropriate...oh well, I can't imagine the efficiency curve will be hugely improved.

Why is this thread getting no buzz but people are going crazy in the corsair PS thread. The very very best of Corsair PS, were made by seasonic.

A 1200W X series sounds crazy good. The x750 is universally the best 750w ps there is and a 1200W if they can carry the tradition, is going to be a great power supply too.

    QFT!
Corsair is like Apple for XS people: "I'd buy anything that's black and have a Corsair logo!"

I'm not too sure what I should think of those fanless psus, I mean whats the point of getting rid of the fan in the psu if you then need a louder fan to get rid of the extra heat in the case?

Maybe because the corsair psus have good availability and low prices compared to Seasonic branded ones, anyway, I'm happy with my Seasonic psu, silent, built like a tank and doesn't have any problems with being used in a crunching rig.

    I hate cable management. (*)
Will they release models with fixed cables?

(*) For me cable management is not useful at all.
    1. more expensive
    2. cables lying around and next time I change PC setups I don't know which cable belongs to whitch psu
    3. an additional connector is a possible source for problems such as contact resistance

I guess you have to make sure you have positive pressure in the case.

In canada, thats not the case. Seasonics can be found just as easily as the corsair, and their 850W models is significantly cheaper than hx850W.

In small cases, especially where the psu mounts over the cpu, it's nice to be able to remove the psu without disturbing your cable routing.

Sooooo it has no fans and is covered with holes. These things are going to suck in so much dust. Please report in the first one that catches on fire please.

What will do all this sucking with no fan ?

A fan sucks in dust, yet no fan equals more dust.

do you really think a user with 150$ for a 400/460w psu won't know about dust?

normally most intake fans are in the front....the psu would be a vent not an intake...

You have to use positive pressure of course, otherwise it will bring the heat and dust into the case.

Because the vents are shaped in such a way to act as a magnet for dust particles.
