Anyone have an MSI GTX 470? Is it a reference design?
Don't laugh; I dont know how to tell. I can't find any reviews on this particular card. I just bought one "open-box" and now Im looking for more info on it. I guess they are all 'pretty-much' the same. No fancy cooler or nothing.
    Any info would be helpful
    Thank you

Not all games are as stressful as others, draw distances with lot's of action can heat things up quite a bit! Are you running DX11 features for Battlefield Bad Company?

hey oli that is some pretty decent score my man. Do you cool the VRM's with extra fans? I can't get past the 940Mhz mark no matter what i do and temps don't seem to be the limiting factor.

Here's my Swiftech 8800GTX fill cover block modded to fix the GTX480. 30C idle, 47C load and that with an i7 at 4.5Ghz sharing the same loop.

I don´t cool VRM's any other way. VRM's are not very hot at the GTX 480 cards.
    Between 40°C und 47°C Load are possible 10 - 15MHz Core.

Yeah that's what i thought... the stock plate barely gets warm even at higher voltage plus i got a 200mm side fan blowing cool air on my card. I hate not being able to bench at 950Mhz+.

I wonder if my 226W Swiftech TEC could handle this mofo?

right now on the 257 beta nothing for earlier drivers you can use rivatuner by editing the config files to support the card 3d and fan temp monitor thuo no overclocking

    Got a Gainward GTX470 yesterday

Stock voltage in Afterburner is .912, after reading this thread I'm thinking its kind of low? Unfortunately I left my multimeter at work so I might be able to measure real voltage tomorrow.

I think yields have gotten better so there are a load of 0.912v 470's and 465's now

Yes, it is. I went by the EK WB config website which said that the EK FC470GTX will fit it.

They use a chocolate brown PCB with their own components (Military grade!) but it is 100% reference design however there is no nVidia logo so I guess they make it themselves. I fitted the WB yesterday and it is running now, still testing........

What do you think about the new 470 compared to your old 5870?

Sweet. I am at 740/1730 stock volts atm, but I am increasing clocks quite fast. Just doing quick Vantage runs + some FurMark to check temps. Seems quite cool, I made a slightly custom fan profile and the card has never reached higher than 75c with the fan going up to 80% speed at a few stages.

EDIT: My old HD5870 was a turd card, 985/1260 was max Vantage clocks and that required 1.270v. Anything over those speeds would throttle the score and any higher voltage would really mess the card up with artifacting/flickering in Windows So far I am liking this GTX470, getting another one in a few weeks I think!

Here's how far I got today, 975mV soft voltage.

    20k small.jpg

Somehow I BSOD whenever I set the core to 805 no matter what voltage I feed it, wierd. I think the memory has got some more to give, still

I have a favor to ask, can someone provide a link or show me how to unlock the voltage limit in my GTX 480? I have hit a wall and am unable to go further do to the voltage limits of 1.138v, I would really appreciate it! Showing me would be better than telling me how as I've never used any of the programs and could not find my way around them if I've never used them before.

    Please what does it mean

    Invalid performance level version

this one, if update my inno3D card from the 1a. version, is that the adaptive power thing ? or what does it to do with because now i can select from nvidia inspector 1.87 4 performance levels, for my 8800GTX there is only 1. i still want it to go lower clocks as it always does from 700 to 405 when not using 3D.

Can you put inlight on this because there are nothing about it and i really want to update.

Just got my ASUS GTX 480 today, been doing some pre-testing on the stock cooler before it goes under my SS unit. Do mind the score i'm only using a day to day OS without any tweaks. Plus a E8600 isn't near as fast as i7 in 05 :/
