I sure hope the Delrin model is on the way and all this is true. It would be nice to have something I'm not looking at daily for Cracks.

There will be delrin pump/resevoirs but not from Primochill me thinks
"Thing is, I no longer consider you a member but, rather a parasite...one that should be expunged."
Or simply put, there could be a legal challange here. If Primochill claims that they bought the design outright, then they may go ahead and make the delrin with improvments and deal with Geno in the courts after the fact. What I remember Geno saying was along the lines that he had other designs (meaning not a T3 type res) that he would push to compete with Primochill's T3. I'm sure he meant they were D5 based bay res's, but not the same layout as the T3.
I'd bet that Brian has way to much invested in their new N. American manufacturing partners to just give up on the D5 bay res idea. When I talked to Brian a few months ago, he made it quite clear that a wholy redesigned T3 was in the works, though he only hinted that delrin may be an option. I think he was seriously thinking about sticking with some sort of acrylic. If a T4 does indeed come out and its only made in acrylic, it will fail from public preception even if it never leaks. They only way to save the idea of the Typhoon is to sell it made from other materials even if it doubles or tripples the cost.
Of course I seem to remember a few months back that Gabe said they were looking into a new head design as a revision for the D5. No telling when something like that would happen, but if it makes a big improvement then that will lessen the need for something like the Typhoon that much more. Might as well stick to the little micro res or T-lines at that point if you build with a D5, as XPSC pretty much has the 350/355 res's covered.
While I'd bet that the "T4" is going to happen, I wouldnt hold my breath that it will be in the next month or two. I'd say end of summer and maybe end of year. Also, if its only acrylic then expect a heavy, negative backlash right off the bat. I'd aslo guess that Geno would be a bit more vocal about getting a new project off the ground if he were about too and we really havent heard from him in a while (at least on this subject). Gabe seem to just enjoy logging in before he goes to bed and saying "here is our brand new ****" and bam, there it is. No real advanced notice, nothing to plan with. The new waer cooling object is just for sale and thats that (which I kinda get a kick out of).
Id recommend just doing your build on whats out there and dont wait on these guy's. There really is no telling when it of it will happen and its not worthing waiting forever and a day for some small performance improvement that has yet to prove itself as reliable. Just my two cents on the subject. ^_^
At Xtremesystems.org we don't help you save money on your cooling gear, instead we try to make you feel better about the insane ammount you've spent.
There's three big things to take away from the Typhoon 3, IMO.
1) Parallel setups can be a great thing if done right--and the overall design of the T3 does get it right. With a really restrictive set of components, you can get surprisingly good flowrates through all of them compared to what you would get with a serial configuration of the same components.
2) KISS method needs to be taken into account here. The barb compatibility of the T3 is beyond subpar--BP with larger o-rings is, IMO, the best option in nearly every scenario (so I didn't have any leakage since that's my standard MO), but the scary thing was how many commonly used barbs would leak. Stock BP barbs seemed to be hit or miss, but mostly miss. Additionally, weak materials prevented 'compatibility via brute force' for non-ideal barbs and overall, the intended overt compatibility with the Primochill Ghost fittings was potentially causing many of the problems. The collar design on the Ghost fittings is pretty different compared to what almost every other barb out there uses. Hopefully future products (from both Geno and Primochill) can learn from this kind of designed incompatibility choice. Should have kept it simple with compatibility for every barb out there (like almost every other product has).
3) Structural issues should never occur in this hobby because of the potential for catastrophe (nevermind hardware damage and the $$$/frustration there, but potential data damage from a HDD getting killed is even worse, IMO). Unfortunately, the T3 had structural issues in droves. Even my 8-port that was never mounted in a case, or ever had any screws screwed into it, had begun to crack at the mounting screw locations after a few months. To me, this seems like an execution flaw--probably a choice made to make it cheaper/easier.![]()
So hows the knitting coming.....
Seriously, no comments from any 'insiders?' Its been 23 days since the announcement of no more ver III of the Typhoon and 7 days (by my clock) till the Delrin Typhoon IV version.
Having been patiently running my rig at stock clock (lack of cooling for OC), I'm dying for any news (thought I had matured some...but na).
Are we there yet![]()

I 'heard' Danger Den just might be releasing a line of DDC/Dual DDC/D5 delrin resevoirs with mounted pumps in a month or so . . .

No version IV yet, but I have to say Primochill's communications as of late have been exceptional. Unsolicited and informative - not sure you can ask for more given the situation.
Much better that a mushroom diet - kept in the dark and fed sh*t....lol.

I got an email from PC saying a delrin typhoon IV is going through QA at the moment and would I be sowing an interest.
Of course I would, he'll yeah!
Don't rush yourself iandh. I think people would rather buy those of you, than from DD, even though they might be similar or higher quality.
Don't start rushing to release it before DD does. I'd rather have a high quality product that's called 'copied', than a lower quality product rushed to the market just to be innovative *points to the T3*.

actually if u want to get nit and picky..
It was EK's introduction of the pump attached res, with the X-Res.
It was absolutely horrible and had nasty vortex issues.
Yes i was a victim of guinea pig during the era.
Ultimately tho you can say Eddie copied this idea..
I believe it was Mcoffee and i who were the first to introduce this type of setup, and Eddy Stepp'd it 1 by making it 1 design.
You can tell the age on it by looking at the OG DD coupler.. the only one of its kind in that time circa.
Also the Petra Tops kinda give the age away also. :P
Im sure i beat the other guys to it... im not sure if i beat Andy tho..

Naekuh: i was thinking about buying EK dual pump top with res mounted on it, you say it's not worth it, and better separate res?
CptCrunch said he came up with the idea but then he thinks he invented the intraweb as well
"Thing is, I no longer consider you a member but, rather a parasite...one that should be expunged."
did i say that?
The only thing i would say is that you would get better performance by separating the pumps.
Im not really fond of dual pump tops, TBH... the whole point in my case is redundancy... having them as 1 complex kinda kills the idea of having to swap out without major reworking.
I do use 2 dual tops tho because of space and aestetic reasons.
I use a XSPC dual top with a EK res in the same fashion (GPU) ... i should take pictures of it to show.
And my HWLux requires a special way to configure it so i get all my flow. (Cpu)
This is how my pump complex looks like:
The only way to make it work with both inlet was like this:
Actually i dont think anyone but me on this forum is using the HWLux in there setup with both inlets.
Well i dont know if he beat me.
I am fairly sure i was one of the first tho.. this circa was even b4 u became really popular on XS.
It was when Stew, aka cathar, and scott were posting like 10 posts per day.
But DB im sure you remember that coupler.. there was no otherway to connect the two clean without that coupler.
And i am pretty sure i was one of the first with that coupler.

I'd like to avoid vortex issues, as i'll have rad on top with inlets pointing down, and would prefer avoid vortex catching additional mini air bubbles that most probably would end up in rad requiring extra often performed deaerating of rad by skewing case yet again.
Yup, i want dual top for redundancy reasons (for loop to perform even with lesser flow but for few weeks untill i'll buy/recieve replacement pump.Im not really fond of dual pump tops, TBH... the whole point in my case is redundancy...

And dual top instead of two single tops for same space&aestetic reasons.
Im honestly surprised so far. my replacement t3 has been working for months now... mabey i should take a closer look
