what use does a flexible display have? i really can't come up with an idea of where it'd be useful to have a flexible display. i want a display to see and use an interface, watch movies or play games etc. - i don't want to do such things on a display that's curved, shapeless or amorphous in any way

there was a phone, i believe samsung has it, that was on demo a year ago which was a 5-6" squarish screen, that was able to fold in half, so u close the phone up and its protected, think of it like the nintendo DS, but with connected screens.

the possibilities are endless when you get flexible screens

Billboards, lots and lots of billboards. Heck they are using LCD billboards over where I live. It's cool to look at as the quality of it is very good. But the wow factor wears off quickly.

I'm not saying that we/I would want a phone that's exactly like that, but use your imagination. You could also think about things like flexible/fold-able e-readers, or if you're crazy enough you could work it into clothes, or you could finally have a large TV in your tent or instead of a beamer you just roll out a large display from the ceiling. Just use your imagination. I'm sure there will be many many places where this is useful/nice to have.

hmmm, open your mind up a little bit, not everyone uses a display the exact same way you do, for the exact same reasons, there is many uses for a flexible display.
