Extreme overclocking workshop - Brazil / and an idea to other countries

I wanted to create this thread in another section but it was not possible

    Summarizing:

This can be a good idea for people who lives in not so advanced countries - like Brazil, where I live, when everything gets more expensive (from hardware to ln2) and hard to obtain information, etc.

In the other hand, there's lots of people interested, and wants to know where/how to start, with friends sharing even their expenses (FYI: HD5870 referecence card = 800USD / ~580EUR... Brazil price).

I'm not competing in HWbot ATM due to lack of funds.. lol. But doing this job of instructing people, so they can make by their own, and it's already prooved that works.

A great team it's not made of only one strong person, but of the integration of the strong ones, and making the beginners to grow up.

    There is some pics:

    Some theory

    BIOS understanding

My girlfriend, wich is an overclocker too, explaining the socket insulation

Participants doing their own on Biostar p45 (well known to everyone)

Ju Yi, my gf, continuing to teach them, on E762

    Insulation by first timers

    Some finishing touch

    Finally...

    A few more tips..

And the rest is with them

    Classified starts

    They pushing the i7

    Probably some good results.... lol

Budget AM3 mounted and insulated completely with what they learned that day (and that makes me really proud)

Detail: morning of next day (see window)... already ~14hours of benching

A champ face: "OMG I can do this" haha

Can't forget the female overclocker, my girfriend, it's getting better than me

That's just the beginning, and this is a tip to all emerging countries. Overclockinking can be done in contries like this, just be organized and help each other.

I'm very satisfied with the results and there's now some new extreme overclockers, that I'm sure they will be improving and improving.

I used just retail things, that anyone can buy here (difficult thing).

Bonus: People came from other parts of Brazil (it's a large country) just to learn this, send me some photos and I did a compilation of they arrival at the hotel, and some other photos. Also a small video of they playing with classified (i never thought that Movie Maker it's so easy to use hahah):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axhbPinD0Hg

I'm open to critics and suggestions, and I hope this give a push to all beginners to learn, or advanced overclockers to help who wants to begin in this art. For those emerging countries: let's push it ppl

    Thanks Brian,

I may be crazy... well, we all OCers certainly are, but actually I'm in an agreement with a college nearby to offer this kind of course. There's some issues yet, a big one it's TIME! Imagine a college open at 3am. We know that sessions can take several hours, even to explain some little things to newbies, but I'm an optimistic person... maybe not now, but in the future can be done.

Congratulations for u too, you know it's not that easy.. but can be done

Sadly, what I wanted to show with this thread too, is that if a hd5870 costs 800USD here, you need to see what most part os brazilians earn per month... let's say 600USD p/ month... well, you want to eat and pay your things, or overclock? lol .... probably both, but how? Split things between friends. It's VERY hard to get a Classy + i7 + good ddr3 + PSU + container and so on.. (here's a 6 month brazilian with "good" salary" w/o eating).

Also it's a large country, as USA, but poor.. so it's also hard to do a meeting between friends and do some bench session, because most people are apart, sometimes like 1000 miles..

But it's not impossible and that's what I want to show to those who live in South America, or other places where have this kind of problems. Also for those who live in contries that have a good financial status, keep united, and enjoy that your art it's not that expensive.

Hope some country mates appear here

Everyone have something to learn yet, it's nice to give a shortcut to many things I had passed through and spend a lot of time thinking how to solve that, how to improve that, what IS that, etc., and advice beginners or less experienced overclockers about these things, that sometimes it's very simple, but as never happened to you, you just can't see it clearly.

I like to help, and it's awesome to see the evolution with some "guide".

    Thanks guys.
