Well i just made "custom.3" what is different is, i had slight poping with old driver (every once in a while), seems to be fine with this new one. Also in custom 3 i removed soundmax service that runs at boot and is useful only if you are using soundmax control panel (and we dont use that, since we have creative one), so you save like 2mb of memory and one less crappy service that is runing

clean up registry i just meant that you need to run that registry patch that i provided it removes like 4/6 keys (depends on windows). And ofc people that didnt install 6590 drivers before dont need to do that.

Hmm... Do I have to remove everything?

What I did was remove the 6590 driver. Reboot. Run the registry patch. Install the 6600 driver.

Like this I lost a few options in the Creative control panel.

khm... that registry patch suppose to fix that not sure why it doesnt... maybe try v2, you will need to reinstall drivers after... if even this do not work revert back to old drivers and install 6600 on next fresh instalation. Thing is 6590 are bit messed up, this was also the reason i didnt give up with fixing new drivers when i got 6590 working...

oh ye and also you might try to manualy erase ctapo*.dll in system32/syswow64 and daisywrp.dll.

6590 installs some creative registry settings "manualy" when 6600 do everything as creative intended

    What is V2?

Removing the 6600 driver and completely removing the Creative software did the trick. I also cleaned the registry with CCleaner and TuneUp Utilities before installing the driver and the software again. The licence was still good and everything seems to be working again.

After the installation of the driver and the software I cleaned it again and TuneUp Utilities finds a lot of stuff that can be removed from the registry.

Unreal Tournament 2004 uses OpenAl and the sound is very good.

    Thanks a lot SoLoR.
