Yeah a paper clip works great, to be safe you can put electrical tape over it. EDIT: cut the paper clip in half first, not like in the link above lol

You need 3x EPS + 1x PCIE to power the board. Depending of what your psu has, here's adapters:

hey File i think that thread got lost in a server outage or something but no worries when we get the boards we'll get it worked out. Are you sure that speed and configuration of ram will work? I was under the impression it had to be 4x1gb 667mhz..

If I understand correctly the cpu seller from ebay sells for a fixed price of $27.5, but doesn't need a group buy? We could all order separately, or maybe a group buy only for a Europe if that ends up cheaper.

Someone linked to $2.60 heatsinks on ebay, there's a bracket there too, I linked ram for $35. Adapters 2$ each. All that remains is the psu, which you can find in the $~50 range at your favorite online store or cheaper used.

It doesn't get any cheaper than this.

do you guys think that a "Corsair VX Series CMPSU-550VXEU" will be enough ? i dont want to over spend, since i am buying 4 boards. and the HX is 60$ more at my home shop. it does have a single 12v rail, but i know its not corsair best..

It should work, usually no problem running lower speed ram.

sounds like a good idea. yeah the cpu guy is from ebay, i just got the price down from 42$ to 27.50 for us. and he had lots last time i talked to him. he is shipping individually, its cost me 32$ in shipping for 16 cpu's to europe.

Duh, have you talked to the board seller about multiple shipments?
Hopefully he can ship to multiple trustworthy users in US and one in Europe (or wherever else there's multiple orders) and then these people reship.

I think that's what we're planning on doing. Ship them to someone here in the states to test them before distributing them to everyone. We just need fifty orders i guess.

yeah I was proposing multiple users in US. It's gonna be a pain to ship 30+ boxes in US for one person. The seller won't be shipping all - lets say 30 US boards - in one package anyway, right? my 2 cents.

btw yeah, CMPSU-550VXEU is enough. Depending on your situation you can consider powering multiple boards with one psu. I did power an 8-core motherboard and this 16-core with one 650W psu.

i think we are in the low 30's so we need around 20 more people. and yes it would be perfect with 8354 or 8356 but those are jolly expensive compared to 8347, and they are only 300 and 400 mhz faster. and it gives it some ability to upgrade later, when the faster procs gets cheaper.

until about 3 hours before the end of the bidding, I was in the lead for 2 pairs of 8356 procs for ~30 bucks per pair...they ended at 130 per pair, which..at the time was more than I could afford
and I've seen them go for ~60-80
