I have recently seen an interesting review with power consumption comparison on air and water for the 2 480 cards in SLI.
At full load (furmark) cards under water used 124W less than on air!
This difference is for the whole system so it's not exactly just the cards - the system under water has 2 less delta fans to run but has pumps + bunch of rad fans, but obviously this number is far more useful than just the chip usage.

Hi guys am happy to say that am a proud owner of a ZOTAC 480 GTX at the time I thought of buying a POV series cos it was cheaper but the guys on Scan took too long to send me one and decided to cancel the order now I regreat it as it looks like is the best one hardware wise that is ... http://i39.tinypic.com/157c4n.jpg I can see that the POV series has higher bandwidth, texture and pixel even the Palit series http://home.btconnect.com/fiskov/images/480oc.gif compared to the ZOTAC http://benchmarkreviews.com/images/r...Video_Card.png so anyway I was wondering whats the highest OC you can do with the card without Voltages and and also what would be the highest OC Voltages could get ya with out burning the chip I would be getting a GPU waterblock ...

im cold right now with my 470 on dice with an olli unlock bios...not much brewing over 950ish no matter how many volts.....getting pauses in gt4 03 killing my score....same with 06 sm3.0 second test.
temps in the -50 ,-30 post load
first boot temps
3d03 940/1100 1.137...was the lowest i needed
at 950-1050 it was putting up good numbers.
gt4 then the party was over.

its a pity u cant release the prog since to get u hands on the new nibitorv5.6 u have to chip in and its like $25 a go as i read on another forum + im getting the feeling that modding the bios to let u have 1.2 v on the core needs other setting changed as well that or its been controled by the driver once we find out what is controling it we can set about changeing it that way msi affterburner will do the rest

How are you guys keeping these 470s cool at those speeds....Im getting like 95c with the core speed set to like 625mhz
Watercooling![]()
What he said. You only need a GPU block, the stock coldplate will take care of the rest even at 1.21V... My card maxes out at around 940Mhz core and 2218 mem (max in nVidia Inspector) @ 48C max. Funny thing is, i'm running my GTX480 ay 900Mhz and 1.08V 24/7 but it takes 1.17V to hit 925Mhz and 1.21V at 935Mhz...
It prolly takes DICE or LN2 to get it to bench at 950Mhz+, or there's a voltage somewhere that needs bumping other than VGPU...
