My request for higher voltage and more cold was prompted by this.

Yes, Master/Guru/PurelyAwesome. Voltage was to get lower timings more stable, not to increase frequency.

nice one chew, now with a 965

I think the thuban has a far better imc if you ask me, i did run unganged at 999 but 1m maximum , even 8m wasn't possible and gave me a error. 1003 always give me a error of reboot and i'm at the 0702 bios now.

The board needs memory voltage set above 1.66 , lower it become worse, if the memory needs it or not. Maybe with some old ddr3 sticks running 2,3v would be great but i don't have them anymore.

My question is do all thubans do this Chew* ?

My early sample apparently does not like it at all Also 4ghz at your volts mine doesn't even want to post in windows sub 1.4Vcore at 4ghz...

Gary also had to go through a few samples and finally found a good retail for the 1000mhz setup...

My GTX2 kit might not be the best either on AMD, needing 1.72Vdimm in bios to pass Memtest test 5 +1980Mhz (all the other tests are flawless)... at eg 1.65 my whole screen turns red in a flash... (while on X58 we can reach 2100mhz C7 at 1.65 lol) Massman used the same kit for his tests (might explain the higher voltage needed)

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

    Haven't gotten that far yet.

Still getting my lab back together after trip.

    Have reviews to knock out.

Then I need to rebench as I was being very conservative at event seeing as that was my first time ever on ln2 on that particular board so I was playing it safe.

And to add to all that msimax is up here benching today.

I know Brian that you use retails samples, mine is an early retail sample from AMD (so not an ES), but at least you got access maybe to a few cpu's... there probably will be cpu's with better binned IMC's for sure... if yours all do 1000mhz I'm feeling pretty dumb...

Though got some good info back from Asus support about some issues with the CH IV...

    Let's keep hammering...

nice ramspeed chew ...well done! , but what do you think of the efficienty of the board? even with high ramspeed the ch4 can't keep up with the 790fx, you're running 1100 ram and still "only" 68500 efficienty. I think that is not too good, imagine 1100mhz ram on a ch3 will do.....

tested 32m today between a ch4 and ch3 with a x2 and same settings/hardware /os /tweaks and i was not very pleased about it. no 32m low clock challenge for this board.

effeciency was no concern or that would not have been run in win7

stability is my only concern currently, win7 is harsher.

    Test effeciency later i guess.

Did you find the reason/solution for this discrepancy? I am seeing the same issue on the M489TD Pro 0901 BIOS too.

AOD has bugged voltage readouts on most boards. Experiencing this with most giga boards right now... Does the Pro support TurboV software ?

You're probably right, just installed TurboV and it reflects the BIOS setting exactly.

    Thx for the insight.
