The CPU It won't fit in with Socket AM3
    I tried with Jetway HA07-COMBO (which use Socket AM2+ , but have both DDR2 / DDR3 slot )

    It doesn't boot at all
    It's a AM2+ based Deneb anyway

It's weird that they use many fully working Deneb Cores in a model with a K8 nomenclature (No Athlon II), and that would be be better suited by Regor parts without the entire Cache L2 functional.
I suppose that they may have a damaged DDR-III IMC but the DDR-II one fully functional, or something around these lines, else, why would they choose to use a Socket AM2+ package inhibing it from being used in a Socket AM3 Motherboard when they could use an AM3 package and be able to run on both?

I have the magic pro MP-AKGX-M ultra, it will work for all current AMD cpu including athlon X2 5000 upto phenom 11 X4 965, not sure about core 6, and it supports both DDR2 and DDR3, I have just purchased the Phenon 11 X2 555, and it also unlockable to B55 with 4 cores and L3 caches memory. installed it with 2x 4GB so dimm netbook/notebook memory, total 8GB using windows 7 ultimate 64 Bit.

In case anyone is still interested, they are back on sale at eWiz for $38.50, less 15% off with "SHOWERS15" coupon code. Shipping is under $3 so it comes out to $36 or so.

Now that the 6-core phenom II's are out, it's time to start looking for chips that have 6 unlockable cores

Looks like that particular Thuban won't be an option....

AMD Cancels Retail Phenom II X4 960T Thuban Quad Core Processors
AMD sent out an e-mail today letting the press know that we shouldn't expect to see any retail Phenom II X4 960T Thuban quad-core processors being sold individually on the retail market. These were very interested parts as the engineering samples that were available could be unlocked to become six-core processors. If we had to guess these processors will be available only in OEM systems on motherboards that don't have core unlocking technology in the BIOS. This is a big let down as it could have easily been the best price versus performance processor on the market for AMD. I wonder what AMD will be doing with all the fall out from the Thuban six-core processors now or if the OEM market will scoop them all up?

been waiting for the 960T here in HK but everytime I ask the shops here they still don't know when it will arrive........waiting game continues
in the meantime the FX-5000 Phentlon would suffice

you may be right, the sole distributor in hong kong has mention that the X4 955 and X4 965 is at it's EOL stage and is being phased out, so the 960T could be it's replacements as AMD cannot do without a top of the range 4 core cpu.

Hey dud3man, what settings in the bios are you using for that overclock,
I have the same motherboard and have not been as successful as you.
It seems that my memory does not want to underclock so I can't get my
bus speed past 260. I am sure that its a setting somewhere and I am not that
    good with AMI bios's yet.
    Thanks, budzos

    45nm x2 5000+ is AM2+ only. No DDR3 mem controller onboard.

It does got a DDR-III IMC, because it is using Deneb parts. But the difference is package based, in the same way than the original PIIX4 920 and 940 that used a Socket AM2+ package instead of the AM3 one.
If anything, it is there, but you can't use it.
