    Im confused.
Im guessing that wcg's program is x86 and Im getting the impression that boinc is one in the same as wcg but offers x64?
Very new at this and just having a hard time sorting all the different programs, projects, and what not all out.
Got 10 cores running right now on wcg's software and 8 of which can run x64.
Just want to make sure im getting the most out of each.

WCG offer their own, tested, vetted and badged version of BOINC, but they only offer the 32bit client. BOINC themselves offer both 32 and 64bit as well as multiple versions.

WCG science applications are 32-bit. But there are 64-bit clients available for people with 64-bit operating systems. What team members have found out is that you can generate more points per day (process more work units) using a 64-bit client and OS.

There are many threads about this topic here. The conclusion of the team is x64 gets you about 10% more points than 32 bit on the same machine.

The only piece of hardware that really matters is the CPU and its speed, nothing else has a noticeable effect on performance.

This is the first team I've joined.
It was partly a fluke. I had 200hrs worth of DDDT2 work get credited that day.

I don't have a solar system, but I have a nice rock garden.

me i got the yes of my dad and my brother so tommorow i will put online a old pentium d and a core 2 duo. I have also some payback from government comming so i am looking to put up a i3 530 dedicated cruncher. After that, well i still havent made my mind with all the choice i have ( 4 socket g34, 2 socket evga sr-2, 980x) for a very big dedicated cruncher.

yeah i already did know that pulsar. What i was saying is that i dunno what to get between a 980x rig, a 2 socket x5650 evga sr-2 rig or a 4 socket g34 rig andf also if i update my current rig in my sig. Need 3 rig maximun and a maximun of ppd from those 3 rig while one those 3 rig must serve me as a daily rig.
