For those of you who are already part of the team, the point of this thread is for me to [hopefully] welcome my starcraft friends/fans to the XS crunching train. I made a video telling them my story and so here is my thread to high five them and welcome them aboard!


HELLO SC2 PEEPS!
This thread is the place for everyone who watches my starcraft videos to hopefully check into. Basically, I’m going to give you guys some links that will get you up and running quickly and that will basically answer everything you might be wondering from XS and World Community Grid to who crunches and why they do it. You’ll see if you look around here, everybody is rowing in the same direction for the same goal.

The first thing you guys need to do is sign up at xtremesystems.org (here) and make an account. If you want to show you’re an SC2 guy/gal feel free to throw [SC2] in your name, if not, that’s cool too

Next, go to www.worldcommunitygrid.org to join WCG and click the “Join Today!” buttons that are around the home page. Follow the instructions here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=224817 to make an account, and join the XS team!

For any other questions you might have about WCG and XS, a thread already exists to answer pretty much anything you can think of here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=230613

Of course if you have any other questions or just want to talk, feel free to post in this thread. At the very least, be sure to post and say hi to let me know you joined!

thanks guys, it was a hard video for me to make because of how personal it was but it will be worth it if i can reach my goal to get 250 new sign ups within 1 week from posting my video. though judging by the amount of sign ups so far, i may up that goal to 500

Loaded up WCG on 4 of my PCs now (9 cores total).

No problem Rise. Myself and three to five of my employees get together after work every Thursday night and play SC till about 2AM....a geeks poker night so to speak. We always take breaks and watch a few of the SC2GG crew's vids in between games. I have been watching you guys for I think at least two years. You all do great and I enjoy it and am happy to give back. I made a $20 donation to moletrap a couple of weeks ago after he was saying something about having a little money in his paypal account allowed him to eat...lol

So I just checked my stats and I have generated a little over 8,000 "points" in less than 48 hours....is that good? I plan to install WCG on my son's dual core machine tomorrow as well.
