1055t @ $228![]()
We want to see some real gaming performance.
Something like BC2 or FC2 would be nice.
as expected, do the same perf than the i7 920 on X264 bench.
That show the limits of HT on intel, that is more 4*1,5 cores than 4*2 .
i'm waiting for the cheaper amd X6 to do some tests :p

I think that he asked about clock-for-clock performance between Thuban and i7 in regards to scaling with overclocks at 4Ghz.
no leak here in Thailand

from the photos i saw, it looks like they stayed the same, 4 half sided heat pipes, and same dimensions. and since these are all under 140W, they had no need to change. and honestly its a great cooler, im using mine cause i took out my water cooling, and at 40% fan speed, no noise and under 40c in gaming, under 55c when stress testing, and thats overclocked (by only 400mhz and no volts, so its a 940 @ 965 speeds)
here's a link to some photos
if the temps reading are correct, they are about 10-15c cooler than a phenom II quad

it actually does look different, my old 940 dinosaur has a copper core, not the full base.
Maybe the paste/solder/whatever between the die and the IHS is improved
Apokalipse : i don't think anyone on XS uses the thermal paste which comes for free with their cpu .![]()

I wasn't talking about the thermal pad that is stuck to the bottom of the stock heatsink.
I was talking about the paste/solder/whatever that is between the actual die of the CPU and the IHS (metal cover that you see on top of the die)

So do I have to buy a 1090T to get over 4ghz?
a 1055t will do 4ghz on the 14x multi if the mobo can go to 285htt stable
