What really amazes me is that I donīt have any problems on Vista to remove the old version and to install the new one in your link. As I do the very same on W 7 it wouldnīt work for some reason.

P.S. Sorry that I was kind of pi**** off in my last posting
I use Vista myself, so that is my only experience with it. I am still using that version because the last 10 I tried failed and froze when applying anything so I have just stuck with that one.

Not sure why it, or others, would fail on Win 7 though? Did you try XP/Vista modes, or run install as Admin?

I told Gregor about this, and suggested they need to adjust something either the screws or spacers.

How did you make yours thinner, just sand them down a bit?

I had the similar problems with my EK fullcover UD7 block. The SB made perfect contact, but the IOH had no contact whatsoever. I had a bit of the thermal pad for the PWM's they give you left over, so i used that on the IOH and it worked fine.

How's the temps with a pad?

Hopefully they correct this so future users don't have such issues. I informed Gregor at the beginning of March about it, of course he could have just thought maybe I didn't know what I was doing, or was doing things improperly?

Maybe someone should point this out to Eddy here, so he can come have a look and let the design team know in case Gregor didn't think much of my emails being a major issue. Surely I am not the only one who has emailed them about it though, but ya never know?

With the pad temps are ok. Got prime small FTT running right now, and it keeps fluctuating between 42-43 degrees. Also just keep in mind my PC room is very small so the ambient temps also heat up quite quickly especially when stress testing

BTW - to the guys who advised me to check my LinX runs by running prime - I think you guys were right. LinX wasnt stressing the cores right. Prime adds up to 10 degrees onto some of my cores vs. LinX so something obviously wasnt quite right with the LinX run. Now, i used to do approx 8-10hrs prime in the days before linX, I take it that thats still advisable?

Did sand them down a bit yes

One thing that I am a bit surprised at was EK doesn't ship with pads to have between bolt head and motherboard, when mount dismount mount dismount I noticed that film on electric cirquit was beeing thinner and uncovered electric path. Decided put some protection to prevent shortening.

In Fugger's 980X OC report thread he states the following regarding the UD7:

cookie i know has one B1 CPU which can do 5.7GHz CPU test in 06 at least from this video

    http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=sJjL...eature=channel

i dont have any experience with retail chips to be able to make comparisons but i'll ask a mate of mine from US to test it on UD7 when he gets one...i know his B1 is pretty decent

the mod however should be the same

    Yo Lsdmeasap,
I could install the latest version of EasyTune6 right now. I had to do it twice cause the first install broke down for some reason. The second install hit the top.
    Thanks for your advices!

Do you know why the Xeon have such a hard time to work out with even multipliers ? The 200*20 was a no go for my system but the 195*21 was alright at the first shot. I had to increase the QPI/VTT up to 1.38v and the VDimm up to 1, 64v though.

A few posts ago you mentioned that noone is quite sure about how much VTT a "Gulfi" would take on for a 24/7 use (Intel says 1.4v is max.).
So is there anybody about being sure how much VTT a Xeon DO is able to take without degradation? The ViD is 0.996v VCore.

you will find that odd multiplier is more stable hence why you are finding that you are clocking easier with 21x

Really? Wow, surprised you could even screw any of them in that tight, I don't think I can!

Nice to see you got it installed, I'll have to check out the latest version then. Installed is easy, does it freeze when you change something/anything and hit apply? That has been my issue with the past 10 or so versions of it

Nope, no one is sure yet about these CPU's and voltages, only time will tell.

Like Dino said above, CPU multi is easier to get going on an Odd value so best to try those out as the even ones will require much more voltage to get stable

The file is fine, I just tested for you guys. Flashed from F7c

    Checksum DE00

I have seen this message you mention with known working BIOS too.

Sometimes this is caused by the file being inside a extra folder in the USB drive, so put the file in the root directory of the USB and try again.

If it is already in the root directory put it in a folder on the USB and try again.

If that all fails, clear your temp files and cache files then download again and save to a different location.

The BIOS itself is fine, except PWM features from previous BIOS are not there for anyone whom that matters to.

Or you may need to flash from F7c?

So guys, it's been an hour... anyone flash successfully yet using my above suggestions?

Sorry Dino, I just realized the features I mention were added by JZ (JZelectronic.de), and Leo @ GBT somewhere I believe. I think these should be added by default to all Gigabyte BIOS now though, I plan to ask about this getting added very soon, hopefully the BIOS engineers can come through for everyone.

People always complain about the fan speeds and wish they could control them.

Here is the features I mean, added into F7d BIOS (You'd have to grab at TT forum though, or JZ Site) And now that I mentioned that, this could be the problem with people trying to flash from that JZ modified F7d to the new F7e, this could be your problem guys. So if the above suggestions fail, please be sure to try and flash from F7c or other GBT official Beta or Final BIOS.

No way to flash this bios through Q-Flash. Have to try via FlashSPI

Edit: Found a new F7e on http://www.jzelectronic.de/jz2/index.php This one works fine

Ahh see, Crashmax, then flashing from the modified F7d is what is causing the issue, and why now the newly modified F7e @ JZ site is working for you. You will have to continue with his edited BIOSes from now on likely, or flash back to official GBT ones before updating if he does not provide updates for you fast enough.

If that is what is going on? I thought that might be the problem

Not sure, but I downloaded directly from Gigabyte FTP the BIOS Stasio posted (Same place he downloaded from) and it worked fine.

    Mr mbreslin, nice work!
What do you have your vdroop compensation set to, if on setting 2 - voltages can go up under load - you can see it in cpu-v if you watch carefully.
    pcmv run?

What do folks recommend here for 24/7 - no vdroop or setting 1?

I have it on setting 2, I have a feeling none or setting 1 will give me a bsod on on load.

Edit: watching cpu-z during linx vcore seems pegged at 1.36, I think this will be ok for me..
