fan controller with water temp sensor?

Hi, I recently put together my first W/C build and was looking at what I could do to improve it. One thing I had in mind was to add a fan controller that accepts the connection from the bitspower water temperature fitting sensor, but I can't tell what fan controllers have a port for this. Any suggestions?

If you don't already have the sensors I'd highly recommend going instead with an Aquaero and the AquaComputer sensors. Great product, very well built, functional and well supported software.

That being said, though, I'm fairly sure the BP sensors would work with the Aquaero as well, you'd just need to get the correct calibration value for them to work properly.

That device is interesting but I think I'm looking for a simpler (and cheaper) solution, along the lines of a few knobs and a small LED display

2 or 3 different versions of the Scythe Kaze Master or Lamptron FC5 come to mind.

For something simple, the Scythe Kaze Master (not sure what the current model is) will work with the Bitspower temp sensor:

Not sure you can read the numbers, but this shows 29.4 degrees C for water temp, and 25.6 degrees C for air temp - about what I was seeing with this setup when I switched to a Crystal Fontz UBER SCAB.

Caveat - I have had bad luck with the Scythe controllers (last one I purchased was over a year ago, and I think they've upgraded since).

NO DO NOT GET A SCYTHE CONTROLLER

im sorry but these guys just do not know how to make proper controllers.

Ive owned 2 kaze masters, and pop'd both of them.
Im using my second one just for temp probes now because the fan headers are worthless.

I would highly recommend u getting the lamptron one over the scythe as scythe is just crap when it comes to controllers.

That's just an Icy Dock enclosure - has an SSD in it. Can't recall the exact model number, but it came from Newegg.

I can't disagree with NaeKuh on the Scythe controllers - of the 3 I've used, only one seems to still be working after a year. The others semi-work, but the LEDs don't work for one or more of the channels. I showed the pic to illustrate that it can work ... sometimes

I haven't tried a Lamptron controller with the Temp sensor.

I am also looking for a water-cooling application...monitor coolant temp and adjust PWM fans accordingly. If you use arctic-cooling PWM fans, you can chain up to 5 fans off of one 4pin (PWM) header.(http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalo..._48_68&mID=342)

It does not seem to exist. Although TI makes a chip (AMC6821) that does exactly that. It monitors temps and adjust PWM fan accordingly. (http://www.eetasia.com/DATASHEET/DET...1000043948.HTM)

There is a test kit with the chip and circuit board and USB/modem available - its meant for you to test/play with so you can then decide to make your product with TI's chip, but its $150 - partly because it has all functions enabled/included - complete with controlling software. (http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/fold...21evm-pdk.html)

Considering the chip itself is only like $2....I don't see why someone can't put together a simple module - I would but its gonna take me awhile to figure out the pin-out documentation - then brush up on my soldering skills.

PS..This solution with the TI chip is/can be totally independent of the OS so any crashes for example will not interrupt the operation of monitoring/controlling of the fan.

It is tough to beat the Aqua Computer "Aquaero", buy once, cry once.

From advanced pump/fan controllers Aquaero-s are wonderful in everything but power. Both TMS200/BigNG beat it in this regard. From what i've heard, rumoured more powerful aquaeros won't leave prototype stage any soon, so for not so uncommon setups like D5 pumps/dual pumps for two loops and lot of fans you need to choose from those other two or solder DIY mods to it.
BTW, i see business case here. Imho there is market for such premade aquaero power extentions for 50$/€, if Aquacomputers doesnt care about it. Just like Duniek's custom full cover motherboard blocks for ones without released full covers by other vendors.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the bigNG. I'm pretty sure it'll handle everything you want to do. I've had mine along with a miniNG for years and the only thing I regret is not buying them sooner.

A cheaper alternative to the Alphacool which is available from Aquatuning for 40€. You can hate AT as much as you like, but that just is a great deal! The software isn't quite as polished as the Aquaero's, but that thing can still do a lot of things: Control pumps (up to 24W per channel), flow sensors and of course fans

But if you want something simpler, most fan controllers that can use 2 pin temeprature sensors will work with sensors like the Aquacomputer or Bitspower sensors mentioned here. Just check in here to see if someone can confirm the combination you picked to be working.

Guys i have the same question....

    i bought this

    http://www.frozencpu.com/products/83...p_Fitting.html

and dont know where to connect it...wich controller to buy can anyone help me ? I see tha most controllers as the Styche comes with sensors cables, so where to plug this 2 pin female connector ?

    for ex this

Bitspower G 1/4" Temperature Sensor Stop Fitting - 10kOhm NTC, compatible with Aquaero, t-balanser and...
Skythe family use KPD 103 sensors - not compatible with sensor 10kOhm NTC. It's show temperature value, but wrong
after using digital sensor, t-balancer bigNG and aquaero, i can say - aquaero the best, AC sensor in-line very comfortable:

Question, why are virtually all these controllers not using 4-pin fan headers (PWM like on the motherboard)?

    its the same...10kOhm NTC

so i can use BP sensor with any styche controller ?

    bitspower sensor:
    R25 (Zero power resistance at 25°C )=10KΩ±1%
    B25/85=3435K±1%

    TTF-103 (used with aquaero ):
    R25 (Zero power resistance at 25°C) =10KΩ
    B25/85=3435K

I needed to find the datasheet on the TTF-103 recently. It's also the sensor that ships with the Lamptron FC-5. In case it helps, it's here: http://us.100y.com.tw/pdf_file/TTF3A103J34D3A.pdf
