Those are some huge slices!
Great job guys!
Those are some huge slices!
Great job guys!
Cuttin it close today PG...
Great job everyone!
Last of the pie for me. Putting my other 8800GT on F@H. That is 2 8800s on F@H and 2 GTX 260 here. Now that we have #1 it is not big loss here. Besides I am expecting the CUDA 3.0 WUs to most likely break this EVGA 8800 as the last changes took out my XFX 8800. Their coding is leaving the older cards out. Which is fine. Progress is good and with the faster WUs more work getting done. Hope the CC 1.1 will continue to work on F@H in the future.![]()
@ PG - it's all good... we totally understand that you do double duty at F@H also...
It's not like someone's trying to catch you...
(slowly now... slowly...)
Snow Crash check your rigs- you seem to be getting some interference and your numbers are breaking up

I have a couple of things going on ...
1.) I was trying to determine the true upper limit of my memory speed (again) which always takes time away from real crunching but hey, it's my hardware and I wanna play with it
2.) I have been using the 285 to pick up a couple extra points on Eintein as I have a goal of 500k before heat gets too much and I stop contributing on that project altogether.
3.) Installed wifi cards on both of my machines and moved on of them into a *new* room. The PC with the 295 and no monitor crashed late yesterday (almost never does that) and I did not find out until I was leaving for work this morning. Unfortunately I had a major installation at work today so I did not have time to pull the monitor from the other room, etc. and it stops in BIOS if I don't have a monitor hooked up so it will be down for the whole day. Hey ... would a dummy plug fool the BIOS ... I'll have to try that later today. The upshot on wifi is that I might put one PC out in the garage for the summer instead of shutting it down.
ramble ramble ramble
<arnold> I'll be back </arnold> on the pie in a day or so![]()
Well good luck with everything-I'm jealous cause I know where your at, I need to do some rig tweaking and I just don't have the patience to get it done and shut them down
Sweet pie guys!
PG! You beat da goose!?!?!
Haha, congrats everyone!
Ok, seriously guys, who's slackin? If I'm gettin pie there is something wrong here.

Snow Crash is doing some work I would have to say
MC has not shipped my GTX480 yet :curse:
I'm just finishing up 100k on climateprediction and
500k on Einstein. I know it's a waste to run Einstein GPU but
I really wanted to be done before the heat of summer sets in.
I *should* be back crunching on GPUGrid tonight.
I am working on a plan to continue crunching through the summer.
It's a small project but I might try and see if I can take some pics.
Basically I already have my old kitchen cabinets on the wall in my
garage and I'm thinking about using central AC filters as "doors" so
they will stay clean. I should only need to cut out slots in the
interior shelves to run cables to / from the PSU and then drill one
hole in the very bottom to go from PSU to wall and another hole for
the cable to a backup monitor (got an old 15" from a friend at work).
I think the only part I don't have figured yet is how many/ what
size / cfm fans I am going to need for proper airflow. The goal is to
have intake fans on the bottom and exhaust on the top
(psu on top shelf and mobo on bottom).
I still have to work out the deets but I have a whole wall of cabinets
to experiment with :-) The real trick will be to see how many I can fill
before I blow the breaker or the wife figures out what I am really doing!!!
Eintein - done
climateprediction - 4 days
GPUGrid pie ... TONIGHT!!!
Definately CPU as you only use about 20% GPU and it still takes a full CPU. Cuts the WU runtime down for the equivalent tasks by about half (or more) but just not worth it. I only did it so I could quickly finish up my goal there, then focus on finishing my climateprediction goal and still be able to return to WCG fulltime before the Supercomputer Challenge begins.
Good to see some new names poking around in the PIE, shows just how close it really is. I can't wait until the Fermi app is more stable and runs on Linux. Then I can remake my appearances!
Yeah, Dak went back to F@H for a bit. Not totally left I don't think, just scaled back.![]()
I got 2 470s, but have taken down my whole rig to add a new psu, which brings with it a sleve job and re-managing cables. In the meantime I just have one hooked in the htpc so I can familirize myself with it.
