I'll load up the Clarkdale HTPC as well which just sleeps 99.9% of its life anyway.

Beating Team2CH was never our goal , they're just too big (11,822 members)
Doing better than Easynews was our goal.
Trust me , this looked like an impossible task 2 years ago.
Now we're there !![]()
It will only get better.![]()

Thanks to all our new friends (some we already know well) we have posted up seriously good numbers ... this places us number two for the day
I am sure we will break 8m tomorrow (it will be a team best ever score) with lots more to come during our "Super Computer" challenge.
XtremeSystems rocks. Thanks to everyone who pulled this challenge together, all our fantastic crunchers, seasoned veteran and n00bs alike. I would be remiss if I did not give a shout out to DDTung ... the super grand daddy of all crunching. Finally I feel a great need make sure we do not forget special recognition to Fugger for providing us with this fantastic playground we all get to meet in.
I am humbled by you all
(8m is green correct?)
Wow to think that when I joined the team 6mil was a good day and here we are about to top 8mil.![]()

Way to go team. Thanks to all the new people. Let's keep it up.
That's right.
That image should be sent to the dude's dad who laughed at us being able to keep up with IBM. Way to go team![]()

Well 80% of the work I handed back over the last 24 hours is still "pending validation" what is the usual delay for this?
Also I noticed that almost all of my validated work units are being seriously marked down ie for one unit: points claimed 273 points granted 197....
Is this normal?
Answers on a postcard
ps. should get another 8 cores eating work tomorrow![]()

Managed to get a Phenom II X4 955 online with WCG last night finally after doing some stability testing work with its OC. It's a dud chip that I use for DI and maxes at about 3.5GHz on air. Tried out an old de-IHS'd Athlon X2 5000+ that a friend had screwed up by slicing into one of the SMD caps on top. It crackled, so no joy on that one crunching. Tonight I'm going to bust out the Pentium Pro 180 for giggles.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.
Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.
Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.
Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.
Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.
Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!
Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.
