^ G210, GT220, GT240 are all 40nm. At the last quarterly call they claimed they were selling all the 40nm they could get but I wouldn't be surprised if G92b's are still being produced on 55nm. That's still a moneypot.

Ill take charlies word over focus group members any day or night of the week. And since its impossible to tell who is and isn't part of the focus group, that leaves me trusting charlie over any pro-nv member on the web. Not to mention that charlie's info has been proven quite reliable. So factor in the focus group viral marketing and all the charlie bashing starts to make sense!

Its true, europe is getting f'd right now the GTX 480/470s... but thats normal for nvidia. Not to mention, he's probably basing european figures as the basis for his argument as its probably the only place where he has cold hard evidence.
Yep, agreed... definite anti-nv bias there and nothing to back it up.

My evga gtx470 already shipped from newegg today .

Let me ask you a rhetorical question waffles. How big does the pile of crap have to be before you start to smell it?

All that and my ATI cards are slow? ??? ???? ????

I've yet to find a game that I cant run.

Better than anything that Nvidia sell for the same price, which is why I bought them. Ive had a Gefore 2 MX, Geforce 3, and Geforce 6800 SLI setups too, since then ATI have just better cards for the money IMO.

I'm quite sure Charlie has 2x 5970's in his rig... courtesy of his masters @ ATi.

But in all honesty, the 8,000 card figure is conjecture. he has no evidence to support that statement. he's just throwing numbers around.
That's what Charlie does. He throws out different numbers all the time much like thoroughly proven with his Radeon 5870 predictions, so by the release date... he can claim he was correct. Last fall, I made a post which gave a half dozen Charlie articles giving so many different numbers on SP's that he was bound to get one of them correct.

It's still hilarious that people believe this guy.

At least he was honorable enough to accept defeat and endured utter humiliation a while back when he lost a wager with an Intel executive. The end result was him having to wear this bunny suit at a convention for all to enjoy.

There are some GTX 470 on NewEgg 350 $
Newegg also has the EVGA GTX 480 available for $499.

Hmm.... my credit card is becoming restless...

GTX 480 and GTX 470 cards are not due to launch in the UK until the 12th of April!
Stock in the UK is going to be very low, but this was to be expected. I recall it was not until December that ATi 5800 series cards were readily available in the UK with the 5900 series not being available until January/Feb

As much as I am an nVidia fanboy, (please post a fanboy alert motivational poster for me). There IS often some truth hidden in Charlie's Stories, however you need to read around the spin and his opinion.

nVidia probably have missed their targets, most likely by 8,000. NOT only having 8,000 units to ship out world wide.

He has been right about key points on a lot of things, and the occasions he is wrong I put down to either translation or he was getting carried away in having a "journalistic moment".

At the end of the day, his site is called Semi Accurate for a reason, more often than not his story has half truths.

i find it funny most ppl call charlies articles bs then come in here and do the same thing..just on the opposite side(nvidia's)

u have to understand that when a journalist is writing stuff that hasn't been out yet..he can ONLY base it off what one hears or researches..so yea they aren't going to be right all the time..
and you also have to think how many times nvidia made changes to fermi before it finally came out..
one minute it was 512 cores next it wasn't ..he's only going by his sources..and when things are changed so are his articles about said product.

i dont believe everything i hear..but i do think this may be correct..and may be the reason XFX is not carrying any fermi flavors..?? just something to think about...

I don't believe this to be correct but there are several things which makes the Fermi launch a little bit "fishy", not the least of which (wow is there such a thing in English? lol) is the XFX's (and BFG's?) "hey we have the box, but we actually won't sell these cards" thing.

It almost looks as if Nvidia fooled everyone into thinking there would be tens of thousands of more Fermi products than there actually is. Almost.
