Don't know about this models, but found an LG W2220P-BF at a similar price and this one has E-IPS panel (yet on main site it's listed with S-IPS). Production for this models is cheaper so the price is normal, but also, the response time is a lot better. Tomorrow should be in my possession, maybe I'll make a review for it.

Mine too! I have 3 sitting on my desk. Input lag isn't bad at all! Colors are damn spiffy too.

Some input lag numbers would be great. Very little review of these monitors so far.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

What about black level, especially in movies... do they glow? What about viewing angles? Cause black levels on my e-IPS glow, same goes for viewing angles.

    The 22" is. The 24" is 16:10.

omg man, when are they gonna start releasing 120hz monitors on a consistent basis, the tech is there now, wth, this dang industry is aggravating sometimes.

we have got 3 options right now, and 1 one of them is terrible, and one of them is damn expensive.

but i think ips panels tend to suffer from input lag, don't they?

i dont mind 16:10 monitors, most everything in the computer world supports that aspect now, and I like wider anyway. nice FOV for games that support it. before i got my samsung tv i played games at a 16:9 aspect on my monitor with scaling disabled.

I'm not a super hardcore comp FPS guy anymore. But I can still accurately scout and snipe (TF2 w/ vsync off) with my ZR24W. Input lag isn't a problem for me on this monitor. People who have done the testing are claiming around 13ms input lag, which is less than one frame. An old HDTV I had used to lag 3 frames behind the video card. That was absolutely unplayable.

One of the reasons being that the hitboxes in TF2 are as big as continental europe and lag behind a few seconds.

I sure do like to exaggerate :p

I use an S-PVA and don't notice any input lag while gaming. I don't notice any input lag in Serous Sam HD or Quake even and I am one of those people who notices when my framerate hits below 60fps.

Maybe you got used to it, since I don't know a S-PVA with no input lag, same goes for Response Time (no, it's not the same thing). Unless you're a professional Quake 3/CS player, for casual gaming input lag doesn't affect the game-play that much (unless it's a panel with serious problems of input lag). I knew and still know many casual gamers that don't have problems with input lag and don't even know what that is. I've watch them play and the input lag is there, but they got used to it and move along with it as if it's normal (and it is, if you got used to it).

Oh, no I notice it on the desktop but very minimally while gaming. I find having the high ping that most people seem to deal with much, much worse.

My point is that low input lag is not enough of a reason to consider a TN panel over a PVA panel, nevermind a new IPS.

AFAIK, MVA/PVA has slower pixel response than any other tech. But, even a TN will be really slow if there is a lot of video processing being done on the monitor side, causing a signal delay.

Fortunately, my zr24w over DVI doesn't exhibit lag that interferes with my ability to react and aim. I hope this remains true once I go to DisplayPort with my E6 cards.

I played a few games in 16:9 (one the benefits of having a 16:10 monitor) and really didn't notice anything that I was missing at 16:10.

You're missing the placebo effect man, which is the most important thing at this moment.

If anything I find 16:10 to be better for gaming since you don't need as wide of a FOV. My eyes start to glaze over on a 16:9 when playing HL2 and many other games for that matter at the default FOV. Too wide of a FOV which you kind of need for 16:9 causes that fisheye effect.

That said for anything bigger than 24" I would still want 16:9 personally.

So close to pulling the trigger. This or the Dell U2410 when it goes on sale. I'll wait for user reviews.

edit: why are there 2 price listings ? http://www.costcentral.com/searchres...zr24w&x=20&y=6

and cost central must be the same as provantage same # of stock

Ok after reading the big thread over at [H] this seems to be the best bang for buck IPS you can get. Reviews are positive. In for 1. Bye bye TNs

decent user review and good monitor side by side pics with some TN panels. http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2064512
