    Nice work...
What voltage do you use to play with LN2?
Do you think this cards needs OCP and OVP mods?
    Thanks for share

Thanks for this test . Very impressive.

But which PSU was used and can we estimate the power consommation at 900 mhz ?

LN2 will give you better clocks just because the GPU is running at colder temps.

Looks like the GTX 480 is going to take the crown with 03\06 but the 5870 will keep the Vantage crow.

well vantage score of fermi are said to be low because of some driver not optimized so that could be solved in a couple of week or months. If it can get the vantage crown and be a folding beast. It might be the best card to go for watercooling. Air cooling user will just stay with the 5870.

I think keeping that metal plate (HS) is not that good idea, like we can see from the picture.
Thank you Petri! Yes, keeping that rad is not such a great ideea, but I was concerned regarding VRM temps and I had no small rads at hand. The wetness on the card however, appeared after I stopped the system.

I am quite dissappointed about the Vantage performance, hopefully a new driver can improve something there. for 05 and 06 it looks like a good card.
and let me guess - it eats LN2 like we drink beer, or?
Thank you my friend! You are right, it eats LN2 like we drink beer

Asus has SW voltage control according to the box...I wonder how it will do?
Thank you! Yes, I am looking forward to see some SW control soon enough, that is, if I do not vmod it untill then

    [QUOTEM.Beier]Hmm....
Can it really be that the feeeeermi is weaker then HD4870X2?
The 2003 is alot higher on single HD4870x2, daaaamn [/QUOTE]

Ahaha....dual-GPU cards will allways kill everything in benchmarks like this bro.

Actually I think CHL8366 is also software controllable, we just need the software that can do it.

I'm concerned with the mods this thing is going to need to shine though. Mainly because the real ones never get released.
Thank you! As Shamino has proven it, this card with vMods is a MONSTER!!!

You are totally right... Problem is I want to try 2k1 on a proper plarform (aka E8600 + REX), and this will have to wait for a little bit.

The video signal gets lost at ~ -73 oC. But maybe that has something to do with the rad on the GDDR getting to cold for them, and not the GPU itself.

I have some questions. Have you test some stock cooling OC? And, have you been able to test some better air coolers with the card? Maybe some ArticCooling or a Scythe will possibly fit into it.

Anyway, great job and hope you answer the questions ^^
Thank you! Yes, I have tested stock cooling OC, 800MHz is what I got stable in all tests. I didn't get the chance to test other air-coolers with the card yet.

Why keep the metal plate on? i know it's the heatsink for everything but the gpu, but in the closeup pic of it, there is a ton of condesation forming on it...i would be worried about that. Did you insulate under it?
Thank you. I kept the metal plate in order to cool the VRM of the card, which gets a little hot. Condesation occured after the session was over and the system was stopped. Yes, I insulated.

Thank you. Voltage was stock for now ( 0.99v). I do not know about OCP and OCP yet, I have to mod the vGPU first.

    Hampti - thank you

saaya - thx bro. I did 800MHz stable on air with stock volts in any 3D app out there. I usually do not use water-cooling because for me it is meant for 24/7 rigs not bench However, if I get my hands on some EVGA WC GTX 480, I will definately test high vGPU water cooling capabilities.

Will you redo some of these tests when better drivers are posted?

From now on I will bench GTX 480 whenever I can impprove something in my scores, be it better drivers, higher clocks, higher clocks on the CPU, better OS optimization, etc. I want to get the best results I can, this is just the beginning
