Good to know maybe they can get the new boards to have better PP, one can always hope.

Performance product or performance per clock. Basically you take all boards at identically pushed speeds and compare. MSI is rather slow.

So is this all of the MSI Boards or just GD70? And is this speaking only of CPU Clock Cycles? or the Entire system comlpetely?

I can only state things based on what I have used, so I know this to be true with gd70. This is overall performance but mostly cpu/memory side.

Put simply an 1800 ram clock is not really an 1800 ram clock, its equal to about 1760 on GIGA/ASUS.

Did some super pi for Pi day C8 2000 dominator gt's on the gigabyte 790xt ud4p, wasn't so easy getting it this fast. A lot of this rubbish

    Got it sorted tho.

    Some 1m.

Borked my xp install for the 5th time this month So with a proper os I think I can get under 13 second 1m hopefully

Plenty of headroom with northbridge and tweaks etc but I just want to crack 900mhz 32m stable on this board with these timmings!

Has anyone tried Team Xtreem DDR2000 2x2GB at 6-6-6-18? Preferably on an MSI 790FX-GD70?

Thanks Chew! Got it. So what's reasoning here with the GIGA/ ASUS Boards Compared to the MSI? I know that your speaking of PP. but what is the main reason? Poor Trace Routing?

could be board design, could be way it interfaces cpu, could be the power delivery or how clean power is to ram causing poor clocks and them compensating by running slack to match competitors.

Nice to see your memory in action El Gappo I think I've seen 924mhz with your timings for 1M with 2000C8, and good luck with 32M

Few months back I did my best air 32M with Gigabyte with open window when was cold outside

Talking about PP, this is Gigabyte with optimized XP

This XP install survived almost 6 months and many chips, too bad I didn't see number of BSOD and restart times in Everest

I must do again the same OS optimization and compare MSI with Gigabyte with the same chip, memory and bios setup

Very nice how much voltage are you feeding them?

I will have to move down a divider to get any more frequency on that 1m I think, doesn't seem to be half as strong tho. Will have a play about with it once I have my install back up and maybe some dice

    1.70V around 1800 and 1.75V 1800+ (up to 1872)

Too bad there is no fine adjustment with my Giga, next step 1.80V is little to high for me, it would hurt my heart if something happen to memory, I use it for 1M only if tRC 11 (1888 6-6-6-18-11 1.80V), MSI bios is better with adjustments, I'll see the difference with 0.01V step between 1.70 -> 1.80V

Enjoy yourself You have plenty of cooling choices, I wish we are neighbors, I would join you surely

*chew, you said earlier in this thread that u've tested some kingston kits, and they are not in the same league with the 2000 C8 Dominators or something like that.. Are they that bad? Cause the hyperx 2133 c8 2x2gb kit (KHX2133C8D3T1K2/4GX) is, sadly, about the only kit with elpida hypers available on the market around here

They can't run tight TRCD, TRCD is alot more important on AMD than TRP, in fact TRp at 5 is for show preety much and nothing more.

I'm willing to spend money on 2 of those corsair sticks that go for 200$ on their site. But i'm not willing to add a lot of weight to the custom's wallets .. i hate this bloody country and its stupid regulations.. sorry for the offtopic remarks. Thanks a lot for the advice man, you've been giving a lot to many of us.

Has anyone tried this Kit on AMD?

    Mushkin Ridgeback. 1600 6-8-6-24 @ 1.65v

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820226123

My cheapo Crucial has served me quite well but I need a spare kit so I thought I'd try to buy something decent.

It's fairly new and I'm no RAM expert, but it looks pretty good to me...

    EDIT: One last question...

Does anyone think this kit may have the same IC's just with lower voltages and looser timings?
    It's $30 cheaper.

Well they are good in 3d as they tend to clock higher and have good throughput, in the end it takes higher clocks to beat a result so effeciency isn't there but it does beat a result.

Everything else appears sub par however, high clocks can't save it in anything 2d related.

They're ugly but I wonder how these sticks would do. 2200 CAS8 should be comparable to the $200 stick Corsair GTX yeah?

Pretty sure they are bbse which aren't to bad. For an every day pc they are perfect just not so much for benching. May take a tad more voltage to run at those setting tho.
