Yep, I had a G80 earlier, and while it crushed DX9 games, it could not run DX10 as well as the 2nd generation of cards (G92s were better, then RV770 & GT200 finally saw DX10 be relevant).

The best bet is always to buy the card that you can use now, and not what you will worry about a year down the line because by then, it will already be outdated/slow
