    TBred @ 2040Mhz to Barton @ 2400Mhz only 700pt increase 2001se

    Does that sound right?
    I went from a TBred 2400+ @2040Mhz to a Mobile Barton 2400+ @2400Mhz and gained 700 3Dmarks

    System is
    NF7
    Crucial pc3200 200fsb 2.5-3-3-11
    Gf4 ti4200 64mb 290/580

thats not a fair comparsion because your ti4200 was clocked lower with the moble barton, your nature went down. also your being fsb bottlenecked as well as ram. get better ram, windows 2k and higher fsb to really shine. I gained 1000s of marks with the same cpu but faster ram. Just upgrading my kt400 to nf7-s with higher fsb gained me about 1000 marks despite the fact my cpu was clocked 180MHz slower! you need to upgrade your ram and get windows 2k and youll gain like 2000 marks, seriously

Try to OC the ram you have already, might as well. That board gives near 3.0v when set to 2.9v. 200 fsb is just stock. Looks like the same is true for timings. Should be able to get some more points from that. Money would be better spent on a new video card.

the ram I already have wont do past 220fsb at 2-2-3-7 timings reguardless of voltage. I would need to run 5:4 at higher fsb and that would kill performance. also pc3700 has the same timings but can run 1:1 as high as 250fsb

you have some SUPER pc2100 ram. with a 9800 pro? hmm maybe youll match my ti4200, maybe beat it by a bit. your win xp hurts your performance bad and bh5 needs a vmod for high fsb

He will most certainly beat it.

Check my 3d01 compare... I nearly have that score matched on my DFI with 56mhz less CPU, 10mhz less GPU, and 16mhz less FSB.

geforce i hate to break this to u but even with noob oc skills you could outdo your ti4200 score with a 9800 pro if u had an nf7, 2400xp-m and bh-5... which he does

of course but he did not receive bh5 yet, also win xp will hurt him quite a bit too. my cpu is beating his by 8fps in carchase high and 15fps in lobby high so far. If he does not do anything, he would be hard pressed to get over 17k. his bh5 ram would push him to about 18.5k though.

I think it did by over 500 marks. want me to explain? you are beating my xp2000 at 229x10 by .6fps in car chase high details yet your barton is 170MHz higher clocked plus twice the cache. also your ti4600 is clocked 60MHz higher on the ram. I have gotten 94fps in car chase high details with my cpu a few MHz higher but 3dmark crashed in lobby. compare your game test fps against mine side by side and tell me yours dont look low compared to mine...

ROFL. I almost fell out of my chair when you said might match the GF4 score of yours. Why go nuts comparing systems? When you first came out and said that were we to assume you were talking about half of his upgrade? No one is in a competition with you dude. Fact is 16.5k is not alot for a barton and 9800 pro. Well the ram, well this... well that. Why bother with direct comparisons? Actually kind of sounds demeaning. "Well after that upgrade you could probably beat my Ti4200 and Tbred score." Im sure he'll jump for joy. I wonder if these comparisons are based on your old LL ram and/or the hundreds of cpu MHz that by your sig you dont even have anymore.

Prizm, if you get the card before the ram please smash his 16.5k for us.

Still not quite beaten my GF4 4400 score though

Though that did use an AMD64 in it ..cough ...

That's the great thing about 2001se, shows that a balanced system is needed, at least for current games. I fear the onset of shaders now in the latest games means 03 will be more and more relevant ..boo hoo

I wish you could do 03 in a differnt order or at least stop between games.

    Regards

    Andy

I still envy your 18800 3dmarks with that ti4200 of yours in an a64. is the via mobos really faster than the nf3 150s? my friends say only stock but once you overclock the nf3 pulls ahead. you had only 2.35GHz on that 3200+ and what timings were your ram? that means if I get the same mobo you got, get it to 245x10, use pc3700 ram at 2.5-3-3-7 timings, mod my ti4200 up to like 360/730 I could pull 20k?
