2260's but with a 19 multi on turbo and should do 4000 on this board.

Just because it's not posted doesn't mean it hasn't already been beaten at stock speed on another board..
I think poke349 can back up that statement of mine..

Though... he seems a lot more interested in taking down the world record for Pi...
(in terms of total digits computed, not fastest time for any fixed size...)

    For the smaller benchmarks:
I think he already knows that he doesn't stand a chance against Xtremesystems if he can't overclock.
Especially if people are going to use chilled water and phase change. (I have yet to see anyone run y-cruncher under LN2 yet...)

(I think I've seen one screenie of a Phenom II X4 under DICE @ 4.6 GHz... but that's just about it...)
    Main Machine:
    AMD FX8350 @ stock --- 16 GB DDR3 @ 1333 MHz --- Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 --- 2.0 TB Seagate

    Miscellaneous Workstations for Code-Testing:
    Intel Core i7 4770K @ 4.0 GHz --- 32 GB DDR3 @ 1866 MHz --- Asus Z87-Plus --- 1.5 TB (boot) --- 4 x 1 TB + 4 x 2 TB (swap)

This is going to sound like bragging but I don't mean it that way.
What this will be to Cinebench will be like someone posting a 4.0 second SP1m time.. Yea, that much better..

I have both here in my systems and neither has ever failed me.
    Then think of my situation.
You've got an essentially irreplaceable board, a pair of chips worth over $3000.00, couple nice vid cards, 4 SAS drives and you want to trust it all to a PSU you have faith in.
Corsair 950TX should work. Or 1000HX.

    2 x 182W (GTX 260-192's)
    6 x "5"W (RAM)
    4 x "10"W (hard drives)
    409W
    2 x 200W (CPU's)
    =====
    809W

    1 x 24W (pump)
    8 x 1W (fans)
    =====
    32W

You're probably looking at a max of 850W for the entire system at max theoretical load, including the use of first-revision hardware (such as GTX260's taking 180W/ea). You seriously should be fine with a roughly-1kW unit, especially a Corsair or PCP&C, or their associated OEMs (Channel Well or Seasonic).

    Peter said 1200w with 4 gpu's.... i think. lol.

    edit

Sierra - notice those two boards are 4-socket.

With my E5450's @ 3.6ghz and 4870X2 @ 850/975 the most i've managed to pull from the wall was about 850w.. and thats everything loaded.

Average is more like 610w, and that is with an LG W3000H 30" 2560x1600 and Toshiba Regza 46" on the same circuit.

    Edit:
Ok TX950 should be better than 1000HX, 1000HX is made by CWT. But dunno about 950TX, since TX750 is also made by CWT. CWT = China Well Tech = Legendary maker of Smart powers

    Edit2:
Yes, 950TX is also made by CWT.

    Edit3:
But CWT is way better manuafacturer now that it was back then, using Nippon Chemicon (good) capasitors instead of fuyjiuus ([crap]dunno how they write that actually) and teapos (crap).

Actually the cheapest Hexacore will be (is ) the L5640

Its multiplier is a little low though, especially considering I have no idea whether retail chips will have a +2 turbo mode as well (probably not), so you might wanna get X5650's anyway.

Here's what I sent him yesterday

    2x X5680 @ 4Ghz crunching – 150-160W each = 320W (conservatively), MAYBE 400W if you go up to 4,4-4,5

Motherboard with NB, 2x NF200, and some losses in the CPU VRM circuitery (digital VRM usually is >90% efficient) = another 100W

2x GTX 260 in idle – 70W, fully loaded with GPUGrid, FAH or whatever = 350W

Add in another 50W for fans, a few HDDs and small stuff and you arrive at a theoretical peak draw of ~850W if everything is OCed to the brink and fully loaded.

Now, a Corsair HX 850 can handle around 1KW no problem. While crunching, you won’t exceed the 500W mark (factoring in the PSU’s efficiency maybe 550W from the wall, but that’s it).

    1,2KW – sure, for benching.

Anyway, I do understand his point - if Shamino wants him to use a 1,2KW PSU he's gonna use a 1,2KW PSU, simple as that
Hell, I'd use a 2KW PSU if I'd get that board in return

    Most likely a dead motherboard
i9 is next-gen Sandy Bridge, socket LGA1567. Monolithic 8-core and up

    Some thoughts on the PSU issue;
Now I'm not totally clueless on adding up what is needed and what is not but consider this:
Do you remember when that gentleman named Moses came back from Mount Sinai with those two "tablets" in his hands?
This is sort of the same thing to me.
'Thou shalt not use a PSU of less than 1200W capability"
And so he did and all was good in the land..
