How much will this run? 800?
So far I've had a 50% failure rate on 5970 LCS, hopfully just bad luck on the first one. Same thing happened with our first GTX295 too. That 1010MHz GPU clock, will it run Furmark for 24 hours in a triple rad loop with a 4GHz i7 running Prime95? And what sort of power consumption is such a beast going to run?
Fermi might take the fastest single GPU for a bit but will cost as much as 5970 (standard) and only out perform it in the odd game with abysmal CF scaling or heavy CPU dependence.

Seriously how much is this sucker going to weigh? I can't see it being less than six pounds. Considering the amount of copper on this thing and the size of the card.

That is one sick fan, but first thought that hit me was; Its still midway, how about some TEC, or some water...? The extreme users will throw LN2 at it anyway.
One award it will win for certain; If it looks that nice, it will be the ultimate bling card
I thought I saw you on facebook, wasnt it a nice message for that friendship request?![]()

It's just a 3d render...so who knows how close the card is to reality.
But, essentially a dual 5870 each with 2GB of memory. Sounds real nice.
I'm hoping this and the 5870 ROG 2GB card come out very soon. Anyone else think we'll hear more at cebit?

Just get some scaffolding in your case to mount it

id think they would do better selling single slot waterblock versions. atleast then you can control a few things, like fan speed and radiators. and since alot of people watercool these things, it might become more popular since the price as a combo can come down a little.
Can I compare this to a hoe?
It's fast, expensive, and everyone wants one![]()
Ohh man hopefully Asus will bring this out at around the same time as fermi so I have more choice![]()

Definitely a head turner. Love the design. I'm guessing $999 msrp.If that 28% increase over vanilla 5970 can translate to games I'd say this would be a great buy for a hardcore enthusiast, it has a bit of headroom to compete even against AMD's next generation. 1k investment for keeping a card for 2years: not too shabby considering many enthusiast buy a $600 card every 6 months.
DO WANT

Why don't they concentrate on watercool card instead of that classic heatpipe? It dumps alot of heat into the case.![]()

I don't think is even necessarily to ATi to do this in order to "counter" nvidias DX11 offerings, things are going bad for nvidia...the fermi we knew from start (the real specifications) are no longer meeting those requirements...just my opinion.

Doesn't any one see that there is no logic in this product. This thing is a minimum going to take up three slots(the picture makes it look like its going to take up 4 slots or more). The fan is specified to take up 32mm. With the fan shroud, backplate additional heatsink thickness and the PCB, this should be 50mm+. This makes it a three slot product. Regardless of how good those heatsinks are, they are going to take up as much space as a Crossfire setup which kills the purpose for such a product. This makes it more redundant than the mars card as their was no way to get 2 285 gtx into two slots without waterblocks and a special MB. Additionally the mars differed from the gtx 295 not simply through mhz. The sheer weight might even make it dangerous to install in computers.
I guess it makes sense if your using it for eyefinity and crossfire doesn't get fixed to work for eyefinity setups. A crossfire setup is better for overclocking and will likely be cheaper.
I applaud Asus for making different products, but unless they can keep this to a double slot form factor, I don't see the point as most 5970 can reach these clocks speeds already.

i wouldnt worry about it taking up 3 slots (i actually wish more cards did since i dont use up all 7 slots, as long as they were also very quiet) since you can only have 2 of these
