[QUOTE=andressergio;4044978]WE NEVER SAY THAT...don't come here as a baby crying when you were very disrespectfull with lots of the best occers on the forum...you stated crap saying you need to see 500 passes on linx stable and saying that we always use SPI as stability proof look at you mate you don'tt even understand yourself you are so contradictory...i can't believe you are admited on this forum

show your 12 hours BLEND as we did and then talk or at least show some respect

Sorry to all here in this thread but this guy has been a pos on the 9650 thread

    Cheers all
    Sergio

    Hi Sergio,

My name is Franco and I'm from Argentina. Sorry to write in english, but I think it's part of the forum rules to do so.
Anyways, I took the liberty to contact you regarding some advices to get a nice stable OC on my pc.
    I gotta Core 2 Duo E8600 on a S2E, 4 gig's of RAM Corsair Dominator XMS3 1600C7DHX, and 2 BFG GTX 285 OCX in SLI.
My system is watercooled with a swiftech apex ultra kit and gtz cpu block.
Anyways, mi highest stable OC is 4516Mhz on the cpu, ram at 1700mhz 7 7 7 20 2T, llink'ed with 5/4 ratio and multiplier at 8.5. FSB is at 2125.
It's prime95 (25.9) stable for more than 3 hours on small ftt, since that's what I've been told stresses the cpu more than anything.
My goal is to break the 4.51 Ghz barrier, I would love to get it at 4.75 with 9x 2000/1600 (5/4) 7 7 7 20 1T but I just can't brake that barrier, and believe me, I tryed almost anything but I think the temp becomes an issue.
Anyways, any advice would be awesome to help me get the most outta my rig.
By the way, my volt setting for my current stability is
    CPU 1.375 Vcore LLC enabled
    PLL 1.5
    vtt 1.26
    ram 1.9
    NB 1.44
    SB 1.5

    Thanks in advanced!

    Hey NeoMike

I'm running good at 4050mhz 8GB's 1800 Linked and synced. Fast and stable.

Next I think I will get 2x 120 GB OCZ Vertex to run RAID zero for the move to Win7 x64,

Also plan to grab 2x GT300's when they come out to replace my 8800GT's. I'm not able to run SLI right now because one of my 8800's failed and I didn't sign up for BFG lifetime warranty when I bought them. Plan to use display port cable to the Dell 30' with the new GT300's

I think I have 15.23, I saw a thread with 15.45 some weeks ago and now I just went there and they now have 15.46WHQL for Windows XP x64

Im so glad they have upgraded it so much. Still remember having 9.43 for like a year straight.

Great to hear. Never had problems with nForce (except when I played too much with 9.43), but besides that, they seem stable. Do you guys click yes when asked to install Network Access Manager? (TCPIP acceleration, Game Priority etc)

Its been a year since I dont install that and I dont know if it finally stops giving BSoD when trying to disabling it.

I click no unless you use teaming there is no real need for NAM, for the average user. I'm sure there must be other reasons for using it but I haven't found it useful.

I started clicking NO when I found out that TCP/IP acceleration (both ethernets as one) were not helping (speedtest test). Game Priority was useful. Hardware firewall was a joke. Nvidia Armor or w/e that was, was really annoying and useless thats why I still dont click on YES, but might try it with 15.46 to see if anything changed.

Hey guys, im running a amd x2 3.1ghz something like that, 0n a gigabyte board, cost $200 for board, memory, processor, its not bad, it gets me online and around, nothing like my striker, but still financial times are not good, cant afford to drop serious cash on something good. Good to see your guys are still around, and this thread is amazing, hmmm might have to look for a used striker board .

did anyone else have to set voltages higher/lower after switching to win7 for a stable system (which was vista-stable so far)?

Yea Apparently, I noticed a slag performance on the i7 core. I used to have QX9770 and it was running fast in all things including gaming. Then I moved to the Asus Rampage II extreme with the 920.

Then soon things became to slag. Like Windows was slaggin performance compared to the QX9770 and sum of my games arent as fast as they were with the QX9770.

Luckily I still have the motherboard and cpu here. Infact I'm Thankful i didnt sell them. Cause I know i spent alot of money on the cpu and it be a waste just to sell it even tho its the top of the line CPU on the 775.

Now I'm just thinking, Should i move back to my Striker 2 Extreme Motherboard. Like I only play games mostly then other task n such and I dont really see much in result in the i7 core.

The only thing bugs me is that I have Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fata1ity sound card. Would it still fit on the PCi express slot 1x (the brown slot) or it wouldnt due to the chipset that is blocking it to fit in.

And if i decide to move it on a PCi Express slots like one of the PCI express 16x like the white one would my 2 GTX 280's be in 16x mode while the white sloted one be on 1x ?

Can someone help me out lol

Your i7 is a superior platform in, pretty much, every way. I'm not sure about why it's 'slaggin.' I would iron out your issues with it since it should easily outperform your QX9770, clock for clock.

In games, you really won't see a huge performance increase with your i7 vs. the QX9770, though. Current games, for the most part, only utilize two threads and don't really take advantage of HT. But the i7 will slap around the 9770 in just about everything else.

To answer your question about your X-fi titanium card: yes it will fit in the 1x slot. I have mine in the top 1x slot (above the first 16x slot) with no issues at all.

As for your GTX280's, they'll fit in the 1st 16x slot and 3rd 16x slot (bottom slot.) I've been running 280s in sli since they came out.

Well I only got my striker II board and cpu and ram like about August-Setempber last year and then soon came through the i7 core and I didnt know they would come out by then. Cause basically I was trying to get a top of the line cpu for the 775 at the time but didnt know Intel was making a next cpu socket.

But then the issue was that I didnt have enough to spend more resources on gettin the top of the line cpu since it costed so much since i already spent about $1000 on the QX9770 at the time.

But I know this sounds odd but Bak on the windows vista days, It was flying fast in doing task and loading through vista but then when I change motherboards with the rampage II extreme with the 920 and overclocked it to 3.2ghz and 6 gig tripple channel 1600mhz it was running like sluggish in a way. Like it wasnt lagging or anething it just felt not as fast.

Like dont get me wrong but I always do registry fix and do virus scans everytime and it cant be that.

Its just the speed difference. I cant explain it. But Since I got windows 7 Home Premium it kinda slags a bit when i open task like Internet Explorer. Like I was intending one day to get the top of the line but then I hear a better cpu comes out next year so i was like "Oh Intel just keep making better cpus where i cant catch up lol" but I know it sounds stupid or sumthing, but I want sumthing more fitting to my needs on what I do and gaming.

I have 2 Velci Raptors on Raid 0 with windows 7 installed on to but to be honest I dont really like Intel chipsets than the nvidia ones.

I know this is alot to read on performance and such but I just want something that aint that slagish and just good for todays games at least.

Ive been reading sites and sum people are aruging that they gonna upgrade when i7 core matures and then some goes against that going its already is matured.

ok, i think i solve my internet exploerer slow loading problem..

I had to go to my manage addons section in my internet explorer and i disabled the stuff i didnt need.

the most thing that was causing it was actually Java Plug in SSV Helper.

It was the cause that made it load slower when I click on it.

Aneway. I think I'm gonna place my QX9770 cpu and my corsair Dominator 4 gig 1800mhz on ebay.

So I can get myself a Lian Li PC -A70FB Black Case and Cooler Master V10 cooler. and then soon I will get myself the Corsair Dominator GT PC-16000 C8 6 gig Memory then.

But I wont place my Rampage II in that case till i get the memory to. Cause knowing the V10, it will be over the memory slots and it culd be difficult to install memory in so i thort I just get the memory last and then transfer my motherboard into the Lian Li Case.

I need a case that has more room and maybe able to have 10 internal hard drives and also be able to have a water cooling if i decide to have one. Cause the one I have at the momment is the SilverStone Temjin TJ09 case and the way i see it theres no room for a watercooling to place in the case.

And I need to change my cpu cooler coz Its getting into summer soon and the room is gettin kinda warm in my room and I dont think my cpu cooler isnt prolly as proper. Im using the Thermalright Ultra eXtreme 120 1366.

I been searchin hard, for a better cpu air cooler and one that I can get in Australia. I need one that isnt difficult to hunt down for things for it.

@toyzruz: I know you posted months ago but, no one answered. My answer: I did not have to change voltages when going from vista to 7. (E3110 @ 450x9)

Sorry for reviving an old thread. I've been running this board for a while now without issue once I got some ram that was compatible. I have also not yet made the jump to i7....yet.

Anyway, I'm thinking about playing with a Q9550 on this board. Any tips?

Trigger, Sangrak....care to post the voltages you're using for your Q9650's? Please?

    Thanks in advance.

    1301 bios update

The 1301 bios turns out adequate with my setup at least albeit more difficult to get stable than 1202beta was.
I'm not sure where this bios can take me yet all I know for sure is how long it took me to get back to 4.0 stable.
In fairness this may be more a product of switching OS rather than Bios.
However I was finally able to get my 790i ultra system stable which required a bump in vcore, vdimm and memory timing adjustments presumably due to the bios change. An unexpected plus is lower PLL and VTT setting in bios but +/- .01 to .03 volts difference over all as reported in windows.
Seems even with loadline off the new bios is bumping up voltages a bit.

The only Prime errors I received in my 10 hour run was 24K small fft run which happened after aprox. 7 hours running time.
Because the error was not a rounding error rather it was "Fatal Error: result was xxxxx.x expected xxxxx.x
This indicated to me a memory issue that had not been revealed by HCI designs Memtest ver 3.8 pro 2 instances. 200% coverage.
Subsequent testing, running 24k, completed 10 passes with no errors and satisfies my need to test any further.

    Thanks again Sangrak.

I was already at very similar voltages with the E3110 I've been using....just a lot more vcore.

I ended up right around your voltages for now (still tweaking)....just less vcore.

    This is with a Q9550 @ 450x8.5.

I believe I posted the changelod in the ASUS forums. All it has is new CPU microcodes.

EDIT: Such a long time since I posted it, but here it is again 1) Fix it might take long time to recognize ATI 5850 VGA card at POST

I installed 1402 the other day. Runs fine; no difference at all from the other bios' other than the 5850 fix...

Anyone running SSD's on your Striker II? I'm trying to decide whether to get an Intel, OCZ, or Patriot.
