it dose use their highest end graphics chip thats still in production.

i dont get ehy they used those parts they could have gone am3 for cheaper its like they took things that were overstocked and going to be dumped and made a kit

A bunch of old components riding on the back of an Ultra branded power supply. It's marketing and licensing at its best. Needless to say is this Nvidia's first actual *pile* of crap?

I like the side-panel cup holder. When working on my PC I got somewhere to put my coffee.

I either hope the 9800gt has gotten a lot more energy efficient, or that Ultra builds their 500w version of that lifetime series unit better than the "650w" units. Those were sometimes bad enough to blow with a single 8800gt, in a core 2 quad ustem.

If its well priced, I see nothing wrong with it. I could imagine Intel would have gave them a sweet deal for including their processor. Like it or not, Intel has more to gain from partnering with NV than AMD.

They should have still stepped up the processor those. If they price this under 350 dollars, than its not a bad deal. The max they can charge for this is 425 not including an OS. Anything else is overpriced.

I'd think about picking one up for another gamer for when buddies need a rig at a lan or w/e, or backup, or htpc. Depends on price though, $200-300 maybe yea, 350+ (most likely will be too unless they take a cut on it) I'll pass

    Seems so... outdated.

    E5300 < Athlon II X2 240 << Athlon II X3 435

    E5300 2.6Ghz $67
    Athlon II X2 250 3Ghz $64 (E7200~)
    Athlon II X3 425 2.7Ghz $71
    Athlon II X3 435 2.9Ghz $74

    What a ripoff

We already do. We see a computer that's inadequate in almost every way. The only thing worse is if they bundled a <500GB hard drive. Oh wait. They did.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119199

Intel G31 chipset (wait; this is an nVidia kit?? Why not a lower-end nForce or something with IGP?)
Old Pentium E5300 processor (an E6300 at least, please!!!)
    2GB DDR2 RAM (2GB for a gaming rig... RIIIIGHT)
9800GT (well, at least we know G92's still going)
If this is that bloody annoying LG DVD burner (with the Bluebird bull on it, which prompts you to install adware every time you close an empty tray), they have a REAL problem.
250GB hard drive, when 500GB drives are $10-15 more and have twice the storage for all your meaty games.

Hey, at least they sell the chassis alone.
