What is the highest system temperature that I should allow for my DFI UT X58 motherboard? I know that when it reaches 60C it turns red but how much higher would you go for long periods of time?
I'm sure DFI recommends that we keep the system temperature under 60C and not run it in the "red" for long periods of time.
Edit: I just spotted this here.
"DFI says PWM is rated to handle 100+C operating temps. I say anything under 85C is fine."

i had around 75c full load PWM!I added the two FDD-type power connectors(dfi's manual book page 29) then drooped at 69c(also this raised my 12v volt form 11.77 to 11.90) i added dfi's flame freezer and reached 66c after that i added a 50mm fan at the volterra area pushing air to pwm heatsink area and now i have 59c-60c max at load!hope this helps![]()
Alright, just in case anyone wants to know what the '3F' error was caused by is that one of my sticks of Corsair Dominator GT C8 2000Mhz RAM seems to have crapped out.
I took out all the sticks and tried each stick individually in RAM slot one and it would not boot up with one of them so I'd say that one is stuffed.
I am currently just running the other two sticks in dual channel mode as I am trying to decide what RAM to buy to replace it with before I RMA it. I wanted to get a kit of G.Skill Trident 2000Mhz C9s, but it seems to be out of stock at pretty much every online Australian store I have looked at.

they are very useful if you have installed an heavily overclocked video card or a crossfire.
many guys with dual or triple crossfire config melted the ATX 24pin connector becouse of high power consumption and only 2 wire of +12 volt from ATX 24pin connector.

ROFL why does it happen to such a big company? They really CAN'T fix it or that's on purpose? Not like I'm using it anyway, because stock 1,8V seems ok for stability, but that's a lil bit ridiculous. Looks like there're not any quality programmers in their bios development section :F

yesterday after a quick test i noticed that probably new bios allow to set the RTL at lower value...that means better performance.
with the right setting of the subtimings in the bios you can change all the important subtimings showed by cpu-tweaker.
however clock skew and CPU PLL (maybe under intel spec) could be usefull, i hope that DFI's R&D team add these 2 options in the next bios release.
Would be nice to know, where could we send message, so they can look into it, and repair things we would point out, and implement new ones we would point out.
That probably would make it a good bios, without issues, at once.
i asked about pll undervoltage option a month ago!so do the same...send mails to dfi's support team for skews,pll below 1.80 or that ever you want...maybe some of them are possible to be added!keep mailing....![]()
I've got a question guys.. Currently I'm running 4305 (205x21) HT ON at ~1,40V. It's perfectly stable in linx, 20 passes, using 4096MB RAM. An hour ago I raised blck to 207 which gave me 4351MHz at the same voltage. It passed 7 passes of linx, so I turned it off hoping for a stable 20 passes with that setting and then raised blck to 210 (4410MHz) HT ON. It crashes after 17-20 seconds of linx now. Does that ~60MHz more makes that much difference considering stability? Temperatures raised maybe 1 degree or even less (I mean nothing) under linx than with 4,3GHz so I don't think that's the case.

there is no reasoning with DFI these days. I ran into a similar issue with our dear "Bulldog" with another DFI motherboard, needless to say I won't be using any more DFI boards on customer builds. That guy is single-handedly ruining DFIs reputation by giving enthusiasts crap about their so-called "attitude" instead of doing his job and providing help.
Interesting that you use the word "reasoning". Reasoning implies a civil discussion between 2 parties and not one trying to ram a bunch of "demands" down the others throat.
I have conversations with dozens of end-users everyday and most are rational individuals. People often make requests and civil types have their requests listened to. Those who take the approach of "presenting" a list of demands will have it folded into a paper airplane and sent back without delay.
