has anybody tried to work a soft selector tool for ISL6327?? i just realized that the same IC is using the gigabyte X48-DQ6 for cpu , and with gigabyte tool u can select on the fly from windows cpu voltage.. so someone with programming tools might be able to code a similar tool for the vga(s)

    Hi all

    Im New here, and

First, im happy 2 be at this Forum

Second, sry for my not so perfect english

    and

    Third, i need help

But befor i begin...i wish Sergio the best with the new Baby
My second girl also born on the 31.12.09

So, the thing is..i search Help for my GTX 285 PoV Rev.2, like alot know the 285 is a litel hard with volts, so the volts in my eyes are a litel 2 low, i saw alot mods here, but i dont know realy wich mod wold be the best for me, i just wold be happy 2 get my Core up, ive buyed extra a great WaterCool, and now max is just 730 Core, when i do 740 or 750 Core i allways crash at Benchmarks or Games like Crysis.

What i need, 2 get more Core ? and when i want more Core..musst i also get my Mem up, or its not a musst ? And when i make the Volt mod for the Core...so then the Shader will be also able 2 be clocked higher, or i need a extra mod again ?

I have best Solding Skills & Pacience, i do Solding now more then 14 Years, i did Sold alot Mobile Phones SMDs Tuning, over 36 PlayStation2 chips Solded, and alot more done, so at Solding i have best Skill, but like u see i am a noob at find out what to do, and what i need 2 get this so great like u guys.

My wish is 2 get Stabel 800 Core, so that my WaterCool can do her Job great, and so that i can be at 24/7

For all Help i wold be soo THANK full, ive tryed at alot Forums, i hope that i will find here more

Is it that mod at Page 28 Thread 678 ?

If yes, so i just need sold there a resistor at the PCB ground ?

Sry that much questions....but in the deep of English language im a NooB...

OPC = Over Clock Power ?

10-1000 ohm means i can sold a 10 ohm or up to 1000 ohm ?

and what means vr/resistor ? is that a special one ?

I see that point at my GTX285, thats NP for me 2 sold, but i need 2 know wich part it is, maybe one can show me a exempel of this Part? so i know what and where 2 Buy.

    OCP is Over Current Protection.

Vr is a variable resistor, normally multiturns that you can setup with the needed resistance for your final voltage.

    Yes.

Anyway, from my experience, if you have some soldering skill on SMD components, I suggest Crotale mods for Vgpu and OCP.

For the OCP mod, buy a 1000 Ohm variable resistor. Its a small plastic block with a screw in it that you can adjust to a resistance between 1000 Ohms and 0 Ohms.

No problem. I found a purported "golden" GTX 285 anyways.

800 core on air, is that even possible?

Absolutely, mine does 810 on air easily.

After various vmods or on stock volts?

Because besides the bad 285 I also got a GTX 285 that clocks to 774 core / 1728 shader on air with just the 1.25-1.26V pin mod. Would I be able to get it up to 800 core with more voltage?

So that's good? :p My XFX card does 796/1728/1404 on 1.215v with no artifacts but the OCP kicks in once in a while ( I run 774/1620 to avoid that), but I've been too lazy to do the OCP mod because I thought I wouldn't get much higher clocks... How high do you reckon my gtx could do with 1.25v?

Not an expert on 285 overclocking but I guess at least over 800 core

IMHO I got this card of ebay so I am guessing its 1.25-1.26V load. Should probably get a multi meter one of these days and actually measure it

Modded. You could most likely get yours higher with more voltage.

No one can say for sure, try it and see. Some guys run 825+ on air 24/7 so a nice card can do quite well but you'll need VR for vGPU and also do the OCP mod. Seems some cards cores just hit the wall at <820 no matter what, nicer examples do 825+ @ ~1.38 - 1.42v. I think over ~800 scaling with vGPU is not very linear.

ok guys i did the OCP mod (me thinks), but all of the pins were open so i only close 2/4/5/ and 12 and i was able to hit 100mhz on core and 50mhz on shaders, the clocks are 748/1692/1300.

1720 shader strap is not stable.

and one think ididnt do is increase the core speed and ram speed, so i wonder if i had OC'ed them i would of been able to hit 1720 stable, what u guys think?

    thanks for the nice info

and runnign F@H to check for stabillity 24/7 of course

Good results, running on water helps as the 200b's respond well to temperature. I'd recommend running some heavy 3D apps (crysis etc) to test stability.

Also as a side note, there's no need for the 'strap' after the shader speed. It's not a strap, its just a speed, so '1692' or '1692 MHz' is the way to say it.

Hi guys, I have XFX GTX 285 GX-285X-ZWFF and I can't overclock! Using stock cooling with adequate ceramic paste, 1x120cm blowing in towards the cards arse and one more directly above it. I know that vGPU is 1.15 but I dont know vRam. I want an easy and safe voltmod to reach 750 Mhz core and 1400 MHz ram. About the shader, people dont mention it coz they keep it linked with gpu clock or dont they touch it at all?

Also as a side note, there's no need for the 'strap' after the shader speed. It's not a strap, its just a speed, so '1692' or '1692 MHz' is the way to say it.

I know that vGPU is 1.15 but I dont know vRam. I want an easy and safe voltmod to reach 750 Mhz core and 1400 MHz ram. About the shader, people dont mention it coz they keep it linked with gpu clock or dont they touch it at all?
You saying the card wont OC 1MHz past stock clocks?

There's really no such thing as a safe vmod, but the bridge mods mentioned in this thread are super easy, and Crotale's vGPU & OCP mods are easy too if you can solder and have access to a fine tipped iron. Choose which one you want to use and go for it.

People do overclock the shader too, 1620 - 1728 is the normal range with 1.20 - 1.40 vGPU being the voltage range most commonly used.
