Just picked up one of these blocks and ran across this thread. I noticed several layed over pins on my backplate. This thread has way too many pages for me to read through right now, but I know Gabe frequents this forum so maybe I can get an answer quicker then searching through all the mumbo jumbo. Is there anyway to get a new copper plate for the XT? I don't like the way the pins have just a mashed look in places. It doesn't seem as it would properly function. Also I needed to take it apart to take the two silver pieces in for powdercoating since nothing in my build is silver.

The reversible plate on the top to allow compression fittings to be installed if reversed has allen head screws smaller then anything I have here at the house and there wasn't any allen tools in the sealed box. Am I missing something or does the waterblock not come with the tools to take it apart? Which would seem rather strange to me since the plate is designed to be reversed on top.

This is my first water rig so maybe these things are of the norm. I will check further into the mass amount of posts when I have more time.

    Oh one other question:

Do the GTZ and XT both use the same hold down screws and springs? I have various parts from both blocks that are going to the powdercoater (Actually the GTZ parts are there already or I wouldn't be asking) Since the main block of the XT is much different in material and color then the GTZ my color scheme has changed a bit on them. I was having the hold down screws and springs powdered one color for the GTZ, but considering the color of the XT I'm going to have to do its a bit different so they look (at least I think it will) ok with the central block color.

My question is if I like the way the GTZ hold downs turn out with the XT can I use the hold down screws and springs with the XT from the GTZ and the XT hold downs with the GTZ? I don't plan on making any more trips up to where my case is being done until early next week to pick it up. So......
