So, with the Koolance top on the d5 your input is pulled from the res ..... is there another input on the top which supplies water to the res? Also I have the mcp655 in this scenario you would mount the pump vertical so the res is vertical, does this negatively effect performance or the life of the pump? Thanks for your help, I have been looking for a good D5 res combo for some time.

The top has two inputs and one output or you can get another coupler that has the return coming back into the res.
