    a little PS magic.
    added duplicate layer, increased the input levels in the 'curves' settings to make the picture darker and richer, added gaussian blur to smooth out the gradients in the sun, made the 2nd layer 41% transparent and flattened.
    at certain angles on my monitor i can see the lens flare all the way thru the picture from top to bottom, but head on i cant, but i just turned my monitor on so it probably needs ot warm up, I need to turn the brightness down too maybe ?.

    and once again that F'ing power line got in the way

    Model = Nikon D90
    Lens = Sigma 17-70mm f/2.7-4.5 Macro HSM
    Exposure Time = 1.6"

    That's a cool shot chickenit, but it's off by about 2 degrees. It may not seem like much but it really bugs me when the horizon isn't straight. But like I said. really like the shot, has a great feeling of width to it.

    EF-S 17-55 is not a basic lens, it is very sharp that most people treat it as L lens, and it cost over 1000$ :P

    it would be nice if it wasnt for the fact that my 7D is shot.
    i have the 7D focus issue, google 'canon 7D focus issue' and you'll see.

    basically it started with the 85mm and now my 50mm 1.8 isnt focusing correctly anymore either....

    its about a month and a half old maybe ? and canon is fighting me on it telling me there isnt an issue and its the way i am using my camera and the canon regional tech, of course, has never heard of anything like this.

    so i sat right in the camera store and showed them... camera focusing thru the lens.... crap.. everything is out of focus...
    camera focusing using live view contrast based focus... dead on, or as close as one can get.

    owner of the store is going to talk to the canon sales rep and see what they want to do.

    if they tell me send it in, i am going to send it in and then tell the owner that i will never do business there again, and that no one i know will either.....

    if, after a month and a half my camera has an issue as severe as this and they wont replace it,,, then forget it, i am done with them.

    Sounds pretty bad, good luck with RMA. As much as I've heard about their customer care, you'll need it..

    There's 2 huge pastimes in Ontario, Canada in the winter. Hockey and snowmobiling. Went to the lake yesterday, testing out my new 1.4x TC...works well. The length of the 2x is nice, but i need AF for this type of shot(any action shot), as well as moving animals....the 1.4x suits this perfectly.

    The trees/background aren't out of focus, he's already doing well over 30mph here..the vast expanse of the lake is deceiving in this regard.

    that's pretty bad man, sorry to hear that. hope canon can sort and repair your 7D. i have read about people having issues with their 7D's AF and was happy when they got theirs back from the service center so there's a big chance they can fix it or re-calibrate the AF sensors.

    mine also misfocuses from time to time even in broad daylight like it never had anything in focus. i thought it was somewhat how i tried to operate the camera and the type of AF point/s i am using but seeing the problems people are getting i think it is a more common problem of the 7D. funny thing is that i also noticed i am getting better (in focus) pictures in live view rather than the viewfinder, that sucks...

    i guess i'll just have to live with it and save some bucks to upgrade to a 1D IV sometime next year, well hopefully. i think it's better to have a camera that has reliable AF that you can trust on and concentrate on how you are composing your shots rather than keep on thinking whether the camera got the focus right.
