i hate you people.. why the hell do i have to live in such a sh|tty little town with nothing but crap around me...
i cant even get a nice picture outside without have the entire frame filled with power lines or some other crap.
    very frustrating...

Look closer. Don't go for the big picture, but for the elements within. I find that my best shots are from places that I've walked past many times before, and therefore am intimately familiar with.

Thanks Sharon I learned the technique from this amazing photographer/programmer Guillermo Luijk on Luminous Landscape. He has a tutorial on his website (click on the left flag for a translated version). Really wonderful technique, as it can be done in Photoshop in <5 minutes and since it selects the 'optimal' pixels from each exposure, it has a clean, continuous histogram and nearly zero visual noise .

I hope ANP doesn't mind me posting, I have this bad habit of posting really early in the morning/next day...

    Nice fly shot, pOPe.

I probably live in one of the best places in the world to take pics, I live in a redwood state park, 5 miles from the ocean, and the Monterey Bay. And I envy your photography skills..

Play with white balance or "fill light". This photo can be much better.

i am torn whether i like this custom style from Mr. wang or not.
it again was meant to be used uder specific lighting conditions.

    canon 7D
    canon 85mm F/1.8
    FStop -1.8
    ISO - 400
    Shutter - 1/30th sec.
kevin wang custom style - i forget which one.
