frustrating mistakes cost me a lot of money in aluminum and a lot of time tonight...
some holes were straight up off?(very frustrating) so i had to re-do about 2 hours of cad work... then redo about an hour of cam work..

but i should have 3 hold downs at the end of the night. just have to cut out the backplates and its ready (tomorrow, i have to go to bed now...)

Is there a reason why the aluminum is so thick?

    Eric,
I would have replied sooner but the compression explosion device in my motion traction system needed to be replenished with distillation fractionation of fossilisation extraction....

    Eric,
He could probably go a little thinner but I have used others which were thinner and they always seem to bough out after a while where as these thicker ones he makes are a dream.

    Eric,
    hey!

i picked up a 5" wide, .25" thick, 12' long sheet of alu for $65. It comes out to only like 1-2 dollars more per mount over plastic (but it does take a lot longer to machine). i think its worth it

I think it is totally worth it so long as the aluminum doesn't condense water on it like with a cascade. It looks way more awesome. Now anodize it red
