    MSI P55-GD80 Vcore OCP mod

Hi guys, I was make an OCP mod for this board and I share it with you.
My board was shutting down when freq were about 4200MHz and Vcore about 1,44V in linx... After this mod with 470k resistor between Imax and GND, I can give to CPU more and more Vcore without any issue . (1,55V+, Lotes socket!!!)

I find datasheet for uP6208 on your site . IC package were the same...
Then I found that by measuring IC are the same or very similar. I think uP6218 is renamed 6208 with small update .

Hi I have a couple of questions regarding this mod.

firstly a 500k vr, would these work? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-500k-POTENTI...item45ef5cc744 do they need to be 500k? can 100k be used?

Also if doing this mod with pencil, you just shade across the two pins yes? oh and would this apply also to gd-80 with foxconn socket?
nice mod btw and thanks in advance.

100k is too small for this mod. 500k vr is minimum...

Yes, if you try pencil mod, shade it only betwen Imax and GND on the black resistor. You can use this mod if you have a foxconn socket, but it is a big risk

Or only solder 470k resistor betwen Imax and GND. It works fine and have enought for high amps for quads with HT on high freq/volts

    470k fixed resistor

// and I think, this will be the same mod for Big Bang Fuzion and Trinergy. But I´m not 100% sure

so, this mod is not for Big Bang fuzion. I will check and layout around Voltage controller is not same as on GD80.
so, DO NOT USE THIS MOD ON FUZION

    thanks.

I'm wondering if it works with GD65. Yesterday I was benching on i3 530 - if I set more than 1.663v in bios mobo didn't post. The same in Windows, using control center - more than 1.672-1.680 real and freeze. Do you think this is problem with OCP?

Now, I don't think so... I don't even have any phase unit around to check IC seems to be the same, I'll check it tomorrow. Maybe layout is a bit different, now I'm not sure.
