You can gain another 30c's on your VRM temps by removing the thermal pads, and dropping a dab of arctic ceramique on each vrm. I just did it here, and I have to say that temps are phenomenal. This O/C is before I flashed this 5850 to an asus5870 bios. Now working on improving the O/C. Nonetheless, the 1.25 voltage generates quite a bit of heat, and this is a good indication that a simple $29 heatsink with a hard grease mount instead of the soft pads, and adequate ventilation works as well as a F/C block.




Now, this is the same test with totally passive cooling (no ventilation). It still remains under the max 125C limit despite the high overclock/high overvolt conditions, something that the stock cooling solution cannot do.
