    Any crash course for SB-800

So my cousin getting married this Jan 30---2 days for now, and I just happen to borrow a co-worker's Nikon SB-800, which she also doesn't really know how to use.

So I'm looking for some crash course tips on how to use this baby with my Nikon D3000....I'm trying to keep a *KISS-attitude about this, since I'm more likely to double duty as videographer also....so barely anytime to compose shots. Thankfully they have a Pro-Photographer for that....*whew!*

So if you have any tips, please fire away.
    as always: Advance thanks

    *Keep it simple stupid

Um.... 2 days is rough. First; download the manual. Read it. Read it again. Then read it again. Then read the flash portion of your D3000 manual. Then read that again. Then read it again. You could also visit strobist.com and just start reading... D3000 doesn't have a built in commander so you can't fire remote without a cable. I'm guessing you don't have a cable?

Oh.... and don't point the flash directly at your subject. Ever.

thanks....I had a dirt cheap external flash from Walmart, that's where I learn not to point....ever since I've bounced behind the subject using the ceiling.

I've cut-out a plain white card with tape around the light to soften...

stockings....not sure if wife would let me

    what else?
