what's the best fsb quad or duo that you've managed alpha???? (on the LanParty P45)

cause on the Lan Party X48 T2RSB Plus the best Quad fsb I could manage was 460 and even then it didn't get into Windows..so really more like 450 stable ...

maybe i didn't tune it enough or play with the references enough...

    thanks mate

I got it up to 470FSB quite easily and considering its been nearly 4 years since being a full time torturer I was quite pleased with the result though my 24/7 OC is only 3.60GHz which only required a minimal bump in V for the NB and core

I never really OC's my E8500 much and it ran @ 3.40GHz most of its life @ default Vcore, the ONLY reason I bought the Q9550 was for video conversion, DVD to MP4 and HD-DVD to bloooray etc and @ 3.60GHz it gets the job done soooooo much faster over the old dual core
lots and lots of cores and lots and lots of tuners,HTPC's boards,cases,HDD's,vga's,DDR1&2&3 etc etc all powered by Corsair PSU's

    confused

just curious...I had the T2RSB Plus until it wents tits up and the best I could manage was 460 with a Quad - so obviously there's a slight bit of difference in the yields with the P45 Lan Party Plus Version than the X48 Plus version???

or is it that I haven't buggered around with the References enough...cause I noticed there's fewer on the P45 Plus....

    Thanks

Could I possibly have your settings/a template MrDucky???? - cause the two bioses are nearly identical....
    thanks mate

actually, never mind.i think i killed it..... all i get is a steady C1 or code 01 now...I think...

strange though it was fine, and then when i hit f9 to unlock the advannced te it froze and proceeded to suicide itself.... never got it back, even after 3 hrs of hitting the button....

Just deciding whether to pursue this with DFI or buy the p45 T2Rs Plus/Asus P5Q Deluxe instead...

Thanks..i'll file the template away under stuff to try for later...but for now i just wanna get past c1/01/02/26 etc and back to ff

thank godddd I got my UD3L

    Hello guys

I'd like to ask for your recommendations, which one among existing motherboards, performs best with Q9000 series CPU and DDR2 RAM? I need to switch from Asus Rampage Formula as it is simply crap, not even lying next to real OC motherboard (so called ROG Series). Guess what voltage I need to run FSB480: 1.45 CPU, 1.75 NB and FSB Term volt 1.66. So to avoid killing my hardware I decided to leave this board. Earlier on our Asus forum Alien Grey pointed DFI LanParty DK P45-T2RS Plus, although it is rather hard to get nowadays. I just wanted to update this information. I would appreciate your help.

    Hi MrDucky
Thanks for reply. Well, I'm confused.
I thought that DFI LanParty DK P45-T2RS Plus overclocks FSB easier then other boards. I mean for quad CPU. Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P does it better? Also I see 3 revisions there: 1.0, 1.1, 1.6. I will ask for this in appropriate topic though. (Oh my... I didn't know Gigabyte's P-45 motherboards support DDR2-1366... I've just read at AnandTech review. That's just what my GSkills needs). Thanks.

Why do you recommend someone to buy a Gigabyte board if you hate them?

You should have done some research and than you would have recommended DFI LANparty DK P45-T2RS Plus board and keep on hating Gigabyte.

Have a look at this post that my friend Fritz the germ posted a while a go: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=3255

    @MaynardX

If you decide not to wait anymore for ASUS to fix what has to be fixed in the ASUS Rampage Formula BIOS take my advice and buy the DFI LANparty DK P45-T2RS Plus.

By the time you've got your memory running at DDR 1366MHz your memory is going to die because of the high voltage that you're going to need on that Gigabyte board. You're going to need a lot more voltage to have your memory stable than you need now on your ASUS Rampage Formula. If you think that you're going to run your Q9450 a lot higher than what you've got now than you're going to be very dissapointed. The C1 revisions need high voltage and there's nothing you can do about it but that doesn't mean that ASUS can't fix the BIOS so we wouldn't need so much NB Voltage for FSB >450MHz.

Hello Alien Grey. Nice to see you here

I'm just retrieving information. I've lost my patience waiting for proper working Asus BIOS. You haven't already? I really appreciate all your work and efforts, I said this before. But I wont wait any more till they release BIOS which we all Rampage Formula users deserve for from the very beginning. Also, let us look at this achievement:

    http://img.techpowerup.org/100212/q9550.jpg

This is extreme, but more of FSB500 posts are in Gigabyte topic.

Allright, I do remember Fritz_The_Germs post:

    http://www.pic-upload.de/view-406694...nGrey.png.html

These two are E0 stepping. Now you know why i ask about Gigabyte.

Yes, I know C1 stepping CPU needs more voltage. I've already run mine at 1.45 while trying to stabilize FSB480. Temps while Prime tests were around 58 Celsius. But why 1.75V for NB? And 1.62V for FSB Term Volt. Besides that, my motherboard is dying slowly. It started with ACPI problems I posted at Asus forum. It slowly looses stability, now I'm able to reach only FSB465. I tested my CPU and RAM sticks on other board- they're okay. It's motherboard fault, I will RMA it in couple of weeks. Now I need it for my work.
I don't worry about my RAM sticks voltage. I don't need to OC it much. It's only that UD3P allows for DDR2-1366, much over 1200 where RF hardly choke. That's the point.

    .
well in 15 years of gigabyte board they only had 2 good series the p45 and the x58 all the others are garbage in my view
    and yes i hate gigabuts
    but i'm honest
i had a ud3r and it died but was a great board
it ran 4 stick @1200mhz like it was nothin @ the same time clock a quad 500x9
    i love my ut p35
the dfi dk p45 plus are mediocre in my book cant clock 4 sticks proper mine is running in my wifes pc @ stock
the ut p45 is another story but who wants to pay the price when you can get a ud3p for far less $$ and better @ clockin quads and ram then any 775 board
try 1 then you will see how bad the dk really is
all dfi boards run great with dual cores but when it comes to quads its an epic fail unless you satisfied with a kidddy overclock or runnin stock

Lightbulb DK T2RS+ killed me ...many nights workin and scratched my teeth on :(

Hye, well I'm sick and tired with that bord

I hit 600 fsb with an E8600 on air, and now I'm under SS I can't even boot higher than 490 :/
...nothing to do, tried lot of combos but stucked there : 500 fsb and back to that damned hated clear cmos jumper (thousand time used :/)

So I know it could work though ! where do I missed something ? oO

I wanna work from 500 FSB to the max (approx 630 fsb for the chip) and then I only reached 520 thru SetFSB and nothing more...

To note that I have the original bios which is hard to flash without floppy (gat a floppy drive but no more availabable disk to match with lol)

...nothing to do, tried lot of combos but stucked there : 500 fsb and back to that damned hated clear cmos jumper (thousand time used :/)

Ever heard of USB Flash + Bios 812?

Download the Rar file then make ur usb bootable with HPUSBtool shizzle on the DFI Site also the dos files are on that site. if its bootable copy the files to your usb stick. boot from it and all the rest will go out if it self when its done its going to bleep fast after each other then u can press F1 and it wil reset. Good Luck
