Don't expect any sorta of availability after launch.
Few thousand cards is what I would expect as a best case.

Cypress had 20 to 40K available at launch. it took AMD a rough 3 months to produce such an amount. Availability for GF100 will be a lot later. For GF100, think 7800GTX 512 like amounts.

I had my 7800GTX 512 on launch date, was a good card, although hideously overpriced *cringe. But, if you have the money, there is no problem really.

They didn't have those numbers for launch though...
He is talking about how long it took them to build the launch numbers.

I think you mistunderstand... when they launch a product it doesnt come out of thin air, right? It takes time to manufacture... i believe he was referring to the time prior to launch that it took to manufacture launch quantities.

3 Million DX_11 GPU on 2009 says AMD on the financial conference.
Until March they can reach 10 million or more with the Redwood, Cedar on desktop and the top-bottom mobile GPU's. From January until March is a entire Quarter.

any link for transcript from the conference?
Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.

I think that was number of units "sold" as in ordered. Not necessarily produced yet. And pretty sure that report included the Mobility 5000 series products as well, a majority of which have not been delivered yet, and only recently publicly announced. But I'm sure they secured orders for them from the big companies months ago.

At least, the last report about millions of ATI DX11 GPUs was posted here, someone incorrectly assumed it meant units shipped. But by now, 3 million shipped seems possible.
