I finally jumped on the I7 train...

Playing for a couple of weeks with my RIIE, i have to say it's a very nice board. If u like Asus mb's, it's a typical one. Stable as a rock and an easy oc'er. I haven't read a single oc guide for I7 and despite that i found my max clocks in two days time. It was a bit disappointed cause i expected it to play hard a bit more...


220 bclk is very easy with this board. Wish my cpu wasn't a bit ...

4400mhz LinX with HT enabled will put your Cooling to the test, it will also require more vcore. My WC setup is similar to the one in your sig, you have the larger rad. Anything past 4400mhz HT enabled, I need AC on my rad to keep temps down in LinX or blend.

concerning the decision wether to choose the 1866c7´s oder the 2000c8´s i was hoping to get the rams running 1000mhz with the cpu on 200x21.
That´s why I chose the 2000c8´s. Fact is that the board does 228bclk with a i7-975 but my xeon w3520 has a wall @ 214bclk, so I´m stuck at 200x21 at the moment for my 24/7 setting. 1ghz ram doesn´t work , at least not with qpi voltages I think that they are nearly in the save area.
The good thing on this downside is that I can run the 2000c8´s with 1600 at 6-6-6-18-60-1T timings all day and night long

Good job JoeBar . Good to see you running one . / I hear ya on the HT enabled , OC Nub ! My second EAH5970 is going on my current loop . I have a MCR320 Rad sitting here for a second loop for my i7 920 . The MCR320 Rad is a little beast . I saw your Rad , very very nice . / The Corsair Dominators are my go to memory saxovtsmike . There very flexible in running different frequencies & timings . I'm running my BEMP 1600 Dominators right now @ 1764Mhz CL9 . I wish there GTX 2250 CL8 were less money . When I pull the trigger for new memory Its going to be the GT 2000 CL8 also . Be careful running your BCLK at 221 . I passed two hours of p95 ( i7 920 ) at that BLCK but after that I caught my rig loosing performance . If we had an unlocked multi with the i7 920 along with our board we would be jamming . EDIT: I just pulled the trigger at Newegg and got the 2000 CL8 Dominators . Hurt the pocket ouch but I will sell my other 1600 CL8 Dominators , cheap to if anyone here wants them , I have 8gb of them and will break them up if needed to . What kind of blck are you shooting for? Since you said 220 blck was pretty easy. As 220 is pretty much hitting the limit for these boards. Would love to see what you end up with though.

Dunno what's happening here but, really, if i set QPI above 1,65v doesn´t boot, also 110Mhz PCIe is mandatory

My wall is 222BCLK, 223 POST, but hangs in a blinking cursor at the screen top left and doesn´t boot the OS.

Any tips?

My board/cpu is prime stable at 218 BCLK with 1.224v Vtt and PCI-E at 100MHz See Here

Haven't tried higher, but I'm guessing board (rev B2) will reach the limit pretty early. Probably around 220 like most people.

yesterday i was able to boot OS 225 BCLK, but now i can´t, it only POST but that's only.

i'm surprised you can run Vantage 220 BCLK, i've read somewere back Vantage is limited to 218 BCLK, seems after all it's not.

i always use HT enable, my hit is to try always with HT enabled

what do you mean with QPI 4.125v ?

Hey sl4ck , I use the Asus update tool , always from file . Open tool , click options then click the down gradable bios box . Love this tool for bios ! Just do all bios from file with this tool . Yes I run 220 with Turbo enabled with Vantage no problem with and without HT . Here is my Vantage score with HT disabled , huge cpu score drop . I have the 6gb 2000 GT Dominators arriving tomorrow ( Monday ) , see what happens . That is a typo , I mean QPI I have at 1.41250V , I'll fix that now , lol . Intel really sticks it to us good if we want a higher or unlocked multi on our i7 cpu's , pisses me off !

What about CPU Differential Amplitude, NB OCP and DRAM OCP options? I tried enabled and disabled, but don´t see any change

Mine came with 1639 . Your pic shows you have bios v1104 right now . What bios version are you trying to flash to , v0904 ? You should have no problem at all using the Asus Update Tool if you choose the correct bios file for your mb , os and unzip it . Get your bios files from the Asus site .

Exactly, tht's what i did, i've downloaded bios files from Asus Update, and from Asus site, i only can flash it with the current version(reflash), i tried with all versions above current.

i'm sure i'm downloading right bios files.

I think my problem is in Main block, some information corrupted?
